The tree tops have a lot of depth in the leaves but as a whole look flat.

I agree, there is alot of detail and shading on each leaf, but the overal tree lacks depth.

I like your style a lot and I know you can tell that some of the little doodles you have there could be finished and would look great too. I have also been using this style similar to this for a few of my larger graphics because I have been feeling too lazy to apply the textures to my pixel art.
Just revise some of these graphics and they'll look great. :] Nice work by the way.

I love the boat so far.

However, the monster's torso and arms have no depth in the sense it's an object as a whole and looks like rather flat, yet the bottom half looks like you're going along the right track.

Looks like a big blob of gelatin to me... I assume that's because of how you shaded though, as opposed to the smaller one where it's more of a linear gradient.

I don't see how it looks like jelly instead of a pumpkin. No Jello I've ever eaten has a giant stem coming out of it.

My thing is that it looks like the stem of the pumpkins depth is only infront of it and not around it.
