I found it being advertised along with RuneScape in really late 2001, early 2002, when I was about 9. Was hooked to the GTA quests :D
|
I had a crush on this girl and she told me about it in 2004, I was intrigued to find out more and ended up being hooked on the server Classic.

I started playing Graal in 1998 when my cousin told me about it. I couldn't even speak english (well, can I now?) at that time. The first playerworld that I started playing was Dino Valley.
I quit Graal around 2003/2004 because I had no time for developing anymore and recently came back to see how things are. I hope to get some time soon to restart a project that I left behind. |
Some [EXTREME] nerd I used to be friends with and I were looking for free MMORPG games over at his house, and we found Graal. So he tried it and didn't like it (we were drawn by the images on the old website that were really cool) and deleted it before I got a chance to play.
So I went back to my house, downloaded it, and started playing. I didn't know how to talk for a while until I logged on with my nickname as "How Do You Speak?" on GK, and a really nice guy helped me out, back on Trial Island. He then left Trial Island, and I PMed "howd u leev?" and he told me that I needed Gold to go to the main island, so I ran downstairs and said "DAD THERS THIS REALY AWSUM GAME ON DA COMPOOPER, CC PL0X!" |
Wow, I remember you Osrs. You wore a black cat head and was LAT on Classic in 2005ish, right?
|
When I was in 5th grade ('98), a classmate showed me this online Zelda game you could play on your browser. He also told me that you were able to download it somewhere and be able to play as yoshi and not just link. :P

Anyway, my brother and his friend introduced me to it. Neither of them have anything to do with the game anymore, I just suck. My claim to fame: I accidentally ran into NeoJenova and didn't really even know about it until later that night. I doubt he even knows about it. We played basketball together on the same team at the Kent State rec. |

Well, I was going to play soccer for an university in San Diego/CA, but I got my visa denied, then I went to the army and I didn't felt like playing soccer anymore. Nowadays, I am working for IBM/Brazil as an IT Specialist - DBA Oracle, providing some IT work for a company called Sprint/US. There are also a few indians working together on this project. Its really nice. (the hardest part is understanding their accents). Nice to see you around. :) |

I -have- to see this :O Does anyone think they can find this? Oops I almost forgot to add my bit in. I'll try avoid straying from it ^_^;; AGES ago I would bounce between Furcadia and Graal, usually playing each only briefly and spaced out for a few months. I think it was around 1999? Maybe 98? I don't know, I'm hazy on the specifics. I just remember starting out on the cliff by the center of town, trying to fight through the lag and pkers to get any further... it had the offline mode with the preset characters... ah and somewhere along the line was that sword splash screen :) Before that, I could swear that my brothers showed me it as Zelda Online. I didn't really play much of it, but I do remember the website... Was it a plain white website with its graphical logo on the top, I think it showed a scene of a few characters and a blue building? In any case I think I got bored with Furcadia one day, remembered that little bit I tried of ZOnline and went looking for it. But like I said... the whole thing is tough to piece together... |

Very good question:
1. It's based off of A Link to the Past 2. Sparring, PKing, etc. 3. Most interesting playerbases (You guys would have regretted missing out on Valikorlia especially!) 4. Servers, although not high quality, were solid enough to stay on. 5. There are a lot of little factors and variables that kept Graal going. 6. drama, Drama, DRAMA I've had a good time playing Graal and I don't think I'll have the same experience again. Recently I tried out the World of Warcraft trial for the first time and I just wasn't interested at all. Edit: Woops, I interpreted the title wrong. I found out Graal from a site linked from Newgrounds which had the really old Graal Java site which itself linked itself to the official Graal page. :) |
