Touya was hella good, Typhoon (hereafter referred to as "Jar Jar") was overrated crap.

Ace and I were on a even playing field. I wasn't one of the first Xanadu's just because of my charm and good looks.


Ace, Tro, Zidaine, Ray... I miss those guys.

Ace was better than Sayian. As a matter of a fact, Sayian was an Ace worshipper.

IXI, Touya was way better than Ace. Touya's prime was before you started playing so you can't be expected to know that...but yeah, Touya and Jin were absolute beasts.

Anyone who played back then can't deny tao's legacy. He had three times the amount of experience the person in second place had. He was a machine!

He'd go into base 1 and kill everyone except one noob, he'd finally fall to that kid and then just be fine. He wouldn't team chat "lag" and scream and rant and rave about how Zone sucks like most kids these days do. That was pretty cool to me.

In all reality, this is a matter of opinion. Even if someone is better than Siwin, I will never accept it. Siwin was the guy I viewed as the best when I first started playing and he has always been there. Even if the entire Forums community shouts "Ace" at me I'll still scream right back "TAO!!!"

The same applies to DDC diehards, or Jin diehards, or Ace diehards.

This is opinion based, and let's remember, most Graal players do not judge a player by their purest skill - they mix in popularity and all of that junk.

Let's be real here, who was the actual best? Well, you have to look at pure dominance. You can't fight in a small pond of players, and lay claim to being the best (This is targeted to all the people suggesting, IxI, Typhoon, and Ace were the best).

StormY IMO is the absolute best. He fought in a large pond, an ocean in fact. He was the best in Zone's "Golden Age" of players. After Hayashi died off, and most of the veterans quit, Zone was a much easier server to become the "best" on. Argue or not, it's the truth.

I also noticed that many people (As I stated above) who are popular, will receive more votes for the "best" position.

Argue with me if you must, but various players (Some of whom no one has mentioned yet) would defiantly be ranked high in Zone's all-time "best" list. RealDDC, Gambet, Muroku (SC?), and Touya were amongst the elites.

Although I do personally believe that Tao and Gambet become bigger than they actually were (Skill wise). Muroku was very underrated by many, and he was a solid player. Touya was a killing machine back in the day. He didn't play for stats, but if you challenged him to a spar you would of probably lost. RealDDC was an amazing player if I recall. I never got along with him during my stay on Zone, but I always respected the dude because he never let his skill get to his head.

Anyways, that's just my take. Nobody here is going to agree.

You can have your little "Fan Clubs," but that doesn't mean who you worship is actually the best.

I never liked him after I beat him in spar to join Hayashi and he stuck me in Infantry. Which, at the time, I understood was super low rank. But whatever, the past is past.

You should come back on Zone for a bit, you'll probably see DDC. He plays again now.

in my 4-5 years playing ive never seen him either, im assuming its not his first acct.

What I mean by this (And I don't mean to offend anybody), is this:

When Ace was dubbed "the best," he wasn't in a good league of players. If I can recall, most of the oldies and legends had quit before Ace ever gained his fame. Now, am I calling him a bad player? No, I think he was a fantastic player. He stood out for a reason, but I honestly can't compare him and StormY. StormY had to outshine the likes of Silos, Huwajux, Touya, Jin, Muroku, FireBoX, Jesse, RealDDC and others (Sorry if I didn't list you).

As far as IxI and Typhoon being the best, I can't vogue for this. IxI was always a good player, but I'm not sure if he was/is "best worthy." Typhoon was decent when I played with him, but when he got really good I had already quit, so I can't really recall what he was able to accomplish.

And no, this is not my first account. If you must know, ask me. However, I do not think that it is a valid subject that contributes to this topic.

yeah good point, i started playing when storm was becoming easy, and ace was the best, i got on even level with ace then he quit and i hardly ever got a challenge, who knows if all the newer good players started from the beginning maybe things would be different :( but in my case, ive never even seen siwin or firebox etc fight good :(

Wow that's creepy. I was reading his post above yours, and I noticed in the way he talked that he sounded familiar. I was thinking it was Jin then I saw your post, I mean, trust him to make a quick comeback as soon as there is a thread titled "Best Player Of Zone". Towards the end of Jin's days, he went all super mature and started using big words at me, saying how he's going to be a lawyer. Good for him if he manages that, it was just funny because it was such a sudden change in person, sort of. He kind of did randomly attack me with verbal abuse when I was minding my own business though...
