You are the creator of graal. Who is stopping you from releasing it? Anyways, that would be awesome if you could but I realize that it could pose problems too =\

Im good at VB but Im not sure if that will help.

That sounds like a good idea. I know lots of VB also, but I doubt that will help since you are basically writing a novel when you do VB.

NPC Code:

If this text box decides to change the text in it, then make the test red.
Else, just make the text black! Have a nice day.

Cybnext_Design 07-26-2001 03:58 AM

As i asked earlier, will someone please give me their Serial Number/Activation Code?

Borland's site doesnt work for me and all i need is those codes.

ownerofbabylon 07-26-2001 03:59 AM

oh yea. =\

it would be cool if Stefan hired like a team of good programmers or graal scripters (or both) and they get together and talk about new commands that should be added into graal (like I know tons of things from programming that arent into Graal that ppl never heard of .. well at least the ones that dont program)

Yea! Thats a cool idea. :D Lets expound upon this.

Cybnext_Design 07-26-2001 10:20 AM

I know a lot of delphi, i could help. If i could get Delphi6 installed, but to do that I need a serial code/activation code.

:(

konidias 07-26-2001 10:45 AM

That would rock stefan.. I would love to see some game examples using delphi =)

If you want, you can always send them to me through email ;)

ownerofbabylon 07-26-2001 08:35 PM

Thanks for being so considerate of the rest of us. Maybe he could post them on the webboard and temporarily ban Ice Pick and Twizted and all of them and then take it off later and unban them :D

skatschool1 08-11-2001 04:15 AM

ice pick *cough cough* (idiot)

Ice pick is a hacker except he uses programs to do it I used to live were he lives and I have been to his house he is an idiot he could not hack for his life!!!!!!!!!!

Linux is supposed to be free, unless you order it on a CD-ROM. Of course, I can't say the same for all the other stuff... Linux forever! Hey Stefan, was it difficult to write a GraalScript interpreter? Did writing it in Delphi help at all?

Skatche 08-11-2001 01:41 PM

Oh by the way... I would have bought and learnt Delphi a long time ago if it weren't for its un-portability to other OSes. That's why I love C/C++, python and perl, and hate BASIC/VB.

toad1413 08-11-2001 03:20 PM

I now some C++... I don't have a tutorial though... does anyone know a good one?

There are a lot of good ones on the internet, but they're written by programmers with a bit of spare time, so they usually assume you have several languages under your belt already... you might want to try Sam's Teach Yourself C (or C++) in 21 Days. You'll get much more programming logistics than cool graphics libraries and stuff, but that's what's really important and (for most people) hard to learn.

Hrm, yeah... kinda selfish of me to ask, really. But do you at least know a tutorial on the internet or something? Maybe a good book on the subject?

DuckyJ 08-13-2001 12:19 AM

For C++ non obj oriented programming I read Sams C++ in 24 hours

actually theres a difference between hacker, cracker and phreaker..
hacker and cracker are most alike. except a hacker does things for knowledge and a cracker does it to destroy something. most ppl who call themselves hackers are really crackers.
and a phreaker deals with things like telephone and connections and stuff like that.
the media uses hacker for all of the terms actually ..

's the other way around. "True" hackers invented Linux, and generally just enjoy programming and doing cool things with their web servers. They're kinda like jedi knights. Then there's a group called (by "true" hackers) crackers, who break into people's computers and do nasty things. Since thy generally have a lot of talent, they're kinda like the dark side of the force. They also write cracks for programs by scrutinizing the assembly code of a programs and then writing clever programs that remove registration checking. Then there are script kiddies, who break into other's computers using a program like Sub7, not having any clue what they're doing, just to impress their friends. And finally, there are people who buy software then distribute it for free (illegally) over the internet. These people are below even script kiddies, because they need no talent whatsoever. Ironically, the media calls all the above groups except "true" hackers, hackers.

I love this post =) It's so informative

#1. It tells us Stefen isn't at the top of the chain.

#2. It explains what a hacker, cracker, phreaker's are.

Fun Fun.

Hey ITT has a programming course. and You get an associates Degree. isn't that cool. I don't know if they teach delphi.

Im taking the CEET course. electronics and stuff.

the main guy who was programming Linux did it cuz he didnt like how windows was.
but now Linux is mostly used for server. that makes it the main hacking tool. Linux has alot more stuff and its not so picky like windows and its open source. so its a lot easier to hack and packet people and do all that fun stuff.

The amazing thing about Linux is that once its creator (Linus Torvalds) got the idea, he immediately made it open source. For many years now it's been a work not by Linus, but by the entire hacker community. Linus did not truly create Linux all himself. "True" hackers did.

You must not know what mIRC is.
and if you do I suggest you leave. Lol if you said that to me a year ago you wouldnt be online right now with the same pc.

now dont call me a little loser. I just used to run one of the biggest chan and a few t3-oc3 connections and had my own Ircd and botnet and all.

and actually all hackers (at least 90%) all get free software.
so your saying a hacker is a little kid =\

Yes, I know what mIRC is, and I am quite aware of the content of some IRC channels. I guess it take quite some skill to set up a good bot. I was unfair in labeling all software pirates as having no talent whatsoever... all I'm saying is, it takes only basic computer knowledge to buy some program and put all the files on the CD into a multipart archive, maybe downloading some crack that someone else made. Thus, it takes no talent to pirate software, but some software pirates have talent. Sorry if I offended you.

Because it might reveal important facts about how Graal is programmed thus causing that people would make their own Graal and removing all the hard work he's done over the last 3 (?) years.

LiquidIce00 08-19-2001 09:23 PM

or maybe its nothing
and those levels are prolly built into graal like the soccer script used to be .. maybe if u played it offline and u had deleted the levels (that is if they were levels) it would mess up Graal or something

Komieko 08-31-2001 02:18 PM

I'd just like to get a clue on how to even start.(Sorry for bringing this back :O) But does anyone know where to get some good tutorials?

Admins 08-31-2001 07:57 PM

Problem is that I would get tons of messages
from people asking me about the scripting etc.
