If that was no joke, please forum pm me and ill show what iam talking about.

For all productive purposes, let's assume any questions regarding the productivity of Graal Kingdoms is not a joke. And even if it is sarcasm, let's realize it's still not a joke because Graal Kingdoms is seriously in a terrible state.

Speaking of keeping secrets... you're the one who never gave the ideas you said you have, and instead chose to withdraw from this conversation. Why should we have to speak in private or have to use some secret group in order to discuss what needs to be done to fix the current state of Graal Kingdoms? If anything, we need to continue these discussions on the forums untill it has become obvious that we spend most of our time discussing how terrible of a state GK is in than we spend enjoying playing the game; and then hopefully it will be obvious that there is not much to enjoy anymore. THEN maybe there will be more attention drawn into fixing the game.

Easter's coming up. Whoever has power to do things should take advantage and do something interesting this year to boost activity. Bjorn telling everyone that they're welcome to come help gets stupid after a while. There should be staff who know it's their job to do things.

I pay ~$44 a year to play GK. Given, now it's reduced to $24 a year, I'd gladly pay 2x or 3x that price. But I pay for GK to play it. I come here for fun; not for work. (in b4 "developing is fun"; i'm not a developer, so it's not fun for me)

Now fix Graal Kingdoms !pissed!

It's broken.
Leveling, Itemization, etc. It's all broken.

Googi 03-03-2008 12:56 AM

The primary barrier to development is the extremely closed-source nature of 2K2's core system. Things like important variable/function names are unknown even to developers. If some sort of library of function names, variable names, source code for monsters, spells, equipment, etc (with sensitive numbers blanked out) were to be publicly released, you'd see a lot of people making and submitting new content (though that doesn't mean it will be effective new content).

Exactly.

People have asked me to make certain things which I simply cannot because I would need access to the code for certain systems. Bjorn is the one telling them to get someone to make stuff, but how can we do that without access to the systems?

It's not broken, it's just not the way you want it to be. Perhaps what you feel is the good way.

We want changes. Not fixes.

cbk, why do you continually go "I would help, but I'm not gonna apply, I want you to beg me to join." Just apply if you want to help.

He means what he says. He would help if asked but he doesn't want to apply. He can do the work but he doesn't want to unless completely necessary.

Then again, if you did apply and got appointed you are most likely to get access to the things you require.

Less likely than you think.

I wouldn't get appointed, and I don't really want a job at the moment.

If you want help, feel free to forum PM me and I will be happy to make whatever you need. Already helped several people with some basic scripts.

True, when was the last time they hired a scripter?

I don't want a job right now on any servers. I've told people I'm willing to help, just send me a forum PM and I'll be happy to script whatever I can.

you want <insertadminnamehere> to get on his(/her) knees and beg you :D

Speak for yourself.

I want fixes. Not changes. I don't give a damn about "new content". If I had the option to relive Graal Kingdoms year 2002/2003 over and over again... I would!

I'd even give 2004-2006 a chance as well. Sounds like it wasn't so bad then either.

No, I don't.

Please post constructively.

I said in my earlier post, I am willing to help out with whatever anyone needs, however at this time I do not want a job.

I meant that even with debug, you don't get access to the things that I mentioned.

Is it even possible to script anything (that will actually work when uploaded on debug) for GK without access to the stuff you mentioned?

It's not accurate to say you have access to nothing, since you can get some variable and function names. You can make working scripts but scripting most of the stuff you guys talk about wouldn't be possible.

Right.

About the only thing I've been able to make by request was a kicking script for MMT.

Reminds me of something.

I want a command to remove people from my playerhouse if they won't leave.

Good luck getting Bjorn to approve that one!
