You must be kidding or you just try to present USDing in a good way.

There is no reason to trade a GK-Weapon for 200 Dollars other than you expect to sell it even higher, thats why they usd, not to get good stats gear...

Ravenblade1979 01-20-2008 12:20 AM

Eye wand...shall i go on..there was new ones released.

ViperZakuto 01-20-2008 07:39 AM

of course this would not stop people from alching items or keeping them on there account. It would help items that are common event items stay common, and not turn rare. there needs to be more common event items instead of everything just being rare. I'm not saying this so i can get good gear. I don't give a crap about items anymore. I play to help improve and keep people playing graal.

If there isn't a medium of items that are fairly hard to get, but not 100-200 diamonds range. newer players have nothing to work for really. All the Leet players buy up all the new event items with there other leet items or 1000's of diamonds. Newer players don't have the ability to get the mass quantity of diamonds older players do. Keep stuff that newer players can trade around. Instead of letting them disappear in some leet players house because they want the item to eventually become rare and make USD or other items off of.

Ravenblade1979 01-20-2008 05:27 PM

Then maybe its time for those leet players to stop being so greedy and start to help out new people. Ya know its not all about us.

kia345 01-20-2008 05:54 PM

You're right Raven. Give me your FID.

No, your idea sucks because no one's going to go out and help the poor and the new. There needs to be more items out there so they're not so hard to get at.

grawlgamer 01-20-2008 05:59 PM

Or the this whole thread could be countered by some people *cough* making more quality weapons and releasing them to be circulated. Look at it from an RP perspective... over time in real life things will become more rare and more rare. (Is there a max weapon damage on here? Without like mods?) You could put some decent weapons in, and solve this whole issue.

lol @ you regarding yourself as a leet player.

Ravenblade1979 01-21-2008 07:43 PM

MORE ITEMS..MORE ITEMS. Thats all the crap I am hearing. More items means more of the same thing. Oldbies able to buy them taking away from the newer players hoarding it for themself.

More item don't mean more help for newer players and you know that Pojo. What needs to happen FIRST is for us older players to stop charging two arms and one leg for something.

How many older players are hoarding ID's? I see quite a few being traded around.

Ravenblade1979 01-21-2008 11:22 PM

I didn't say id's and they down to 20 dias now so they don't count.

Pojo if i had one to give i would but i got a id..so unless you want that can't help ya..lol.

they do count. I have 5 in my house. How many others have five in there house? They are not rare now... but if my house falls, and other people's house falls. then they will become rare again. =(

Ravenblade1979 01-23-2008 07:00 PM

They aren't really a good example of higher priced items viper and you know that.

Why do new people need to have higher-priced items?
They'll eventually get their time.

I'd say I fall under the category of "new" players, which should really be called "weak/poor players" because I'm not really new. I'm doing pretty well without any expensive items. The only good thing I got is probably an ice axe of swiftness, but that was due to desperate selling/trading of my items (i was ready to start pawning my equipment if I had to), and some help from friends (friendliness can sometimes be awarded in the form of items). And I even got a nice blessing on it for knowing the right people. Oh, and there's my large pirate belt- again, received/borrowed from a friend. The rest of my stuff is equipment I easily bought by selling a few goldkeys (each thing only worth 100 dias, give or take).

Then there's holidays... just, be online, and you'll get stuff.

New players don't need to be running around with inferno daggers, or whatever else is leet... that'll come to them at the right time, as long as they practice some patience.

And it doesn't mean they won't succeed.
Maybe, I'm missing something, but... all my equipment seems to be fine untill I can afford some godly equipment, which I don't feel I really need anyways- it's just something to keep me playing.

But hey, if you wanna make it easy to get all those items, and have it so there's no goal to work toward those items, then- fine by me, and maybe RPing will make a comeback when there's nothing else to do in this game ^.^

Gothika 01-23-2008 10:04 PM

Back when I was noob it was fun. I had fun. Because I wasn't bothered about what I had and neither was anyone else. Everyone just did what they had to do and got good over time, no one begged back then. I was different because Zoe gave me a RoW. But before that, I was cool with what I had.

Don't speak for everyone, for example I charge a femur and six fingers. But in all seriousness, let's set prices for every item then. That will fix it right?

I repeatedly see this as an answer from you, yet it's nowhere near a realistic option.

Also by more items, what about more craftable items? When people say "more items" everyone thinks of rare 1-5 of a kind items. I'm not saying this is a perfect suggestion or the one that will bring players flocking back to GK, it's nowhere near it. Yet it's something, but like I said before I think it's too late.

I did not create this thread for the problem of rare items being handed to noobs... I created this so common items will not become rare. eventually ID will become rare again... which is what i'm trying to stop. remember FID's and ID's were common items at one point. IDs will fade out just like Ice Flaming Swords did. IFS's were a holiday item at one point, and really common. Many people had 5-10 in there house.

Draxx and I had like 7 IFS's and 7 Thunder Swords that fell in our shop. if nothing is done ID's and all other holiday items will be just as rare as IFS.

Ravenblade1979 01-24-2008 07:08 AM

i don't care anymore because no matter whats discussed staff won't do crap to help the situation any.

You failed to mention HOW common ID's and FID's were... like so common, that you could craft them in Hirathia. And I can relate to the "5-10" in their house thing. Years ago, when things like bloodsabre were first released, and that thunder sword, I had a bunch of those things in my house just stored away. I thought it was all junk... in fact, I think I had blessed some of those weapons to ogma+2 and sold them to the store for plat.

Edit: I think the solution for ID's has already been done (releasing them for halloween and then some more on christmas). Yes, it's a temporary solution, but it can be done again, and again, and again. I'm not saying ID's should be released every holiday... but maybe we should see how things go. If ID's become rare again and prices start skyrocketting, then it's time to release them again. The earlier this is done- the better. We don't want someone to pay a standard rate of 200 diamonds for a clean ID a week before Easter, and then find out that Easter brings us free ID's for all x.x So, in between holidays, if there is need to release more ID's, they should be done through regular events.

Now that leaves FID's... maybe they should be/stay rare like event items. I really do NOT like the practice of releasing items in a common-form and then suddenly deciding to make them rare, but... well, there's no but, but it felt right to put that there. And in all actuality, I don't care if they're common or rare. Does anyone think FiD's should be common like ID's, or at least much more common?

ViperZakuto 01-24-2008 08:42 AM

if my idea was implemented it would take care of most of the disappearing items =/

EM's and staff members wouldn't have to worry about people complaining that there rare item just got less rare.

If people are worried about noobs becoming rich. You could also make it so items that fall out of houses go into a new shop. Have a set price in plat or diamonds that these items should be sold for. make so many slots and the items can keep randomly replacing each other until all the items are sold. that system would probably be really hard to make though... but it would also keep prices down on most items.

ReBorn_Spirit 01-27-2008 12:06 AM

How about you have to just pay a fee to keep your house up for so long, in game money... not real money. That way when you run out of the money to pay for your house, you just can't enter it until you pay it back. Or if you wait too long, the staff can go in there and take all the items to be put back into events... And sell the house to someone else.

I completely disagree with their latest decision to make houses fall faster. Just pushing more people to leave the game now as their items they don't wish to carry for the moment, are lost in some stupid little house. Theres no way in hell they can retrieve their items, and no warning its even going to fall. It makes it worse you have to run to main to get supplies. Now you have to run to main even more for a stupid house when your better off carrying everything and leaving the server for 4 years to see if things improve here on GK now.

I see that staff don't actually care to keep the server alive.. so Now I have to go yell at them.... No Bjorn I don't care... No smart replies either.. seriously.

**Side note - As a kingdom leader, I'd rather see MORE houses, even if they are never used, on the island. Think I care any?? no.. Because when I'm tired of staring at inactive hosues, I can simply push them out of my way and make room for someone else. What your doing now, just killing the server.. is freaking lame as hell...

Maybe you can use that kingdom tax money to keep the buildings up, or use it to "buy" repairs for the houses on your island, maybe even let people donate to it.

kia345 01-27-2008 12:34 AM

Perhaps a "junk yard" where the contents of a fallen house go and are up for grabs? Maybe even throw in some "guard" monsters to protect them.

You said it yourself. I agree.

Knux 04-15-2011 03:35 AM

How about instead, just make the house where you can access it while it's at 0%, but as long as you come back and repair it, you can get in, and all of your stuff will be in tact?

ViperZakuto 04-15-2011 03:52 AM

I didn't create this thread so the owner can get the items back knux. this was meant to keep the items that are in graal flowing from player to player.

I had a cauldron +2 that fell in one of my houses when my computer crashed. i had no way of getting it and nobody kept up on the house. I would rather some noob... or anyone of the fact to come along and have that cauldron than it just disappear in my house...

MEH. I think if it hits 0%, it should be anyones game... I'd rather see my 570 EC die than see someone else get it, just so the items leave the economy, that's 1710 hrs worth of EC's spawned by EA's (EA's can spawn 40 EC every 120 hrs) but it'd be much more legit to see a new player walk by a dead house and take it. I'm sure someone can make an edit of the current houses a bit broken down and degraded.

xXTaikunXx 04-15-2011 02:19 PM

it should stay as it is. 6 years ago, my house fell too because i was on holiday in real life. i lost like girdle of fighting, tons of plat, ancient bamboo stick and who knows what else was in there.
fact is that this is a roleplaying game and if you don't care about your house, it will fall (like in real life). if you plan to quit then just take everything valuable out of your house and leave it on the char.
i also tried to get the stuff back but the lvls are lost as soon as the house falls (at least that's what stefan said to me back then). but as i said. i think it is better the way it is now. imagine houses wouldn't break - all the islands would be flooded and that would suck. i remember when there were more players active, you could only hardly find a place to build your house on..

MajinDragon 04-15-2011 04:45 PM

What a bump.

And this is only an issue because GK fails at a very basic, yet core, thing. Gaining items. It's just not possible for the majority, so when a wealthy players house dies, there's a hysteria about those items dieing. And let's face it, events or the events system aren't being used enough to put items back into the economy. Even though it requires very little effort..
I think it's better to just leave it as it is. House dies, it dies, item dies, end of story. Only person who should have a legit claim to those items stored is the neglectful house owner. 'Scroll of house Revival' would be a nice concept for a gk gelat shop.

cbk1994 04-15-2011 09:58 PM

GK needs to have permanent storage. As a player who lost dual RoWs and other items after quitting for a few months, knowing that you have to start over is a huge deterrent to playing again.

xAndrewx 04-15-2011 10:58 PM

stefan / tig can restore houses. I should get you to restore all my houses

If a house was to fall... not everything would fall with it. you could puick through the rubble and a lot of stuff would still be intact. =/ if you read my post i was suggesting that something be done with the items in the house to keep them flowing around the server... no let the house stay up.....

that's a good solution let the items disappear and let every item become rare... even though most of them aren't useful...

Great how you've ignored the beginning of my post. But let me make my points clearer. This notion that we should recycle items that have been made 'lost' through houses falling by redistributing them is not something that any effort should be put into. This fails to see the bigger picture and doesn't deal with it in a long term and progressive way.

Clearly the worry is that through houses falling items are being lost and there aren't enough to supply the entire server therefore making things unnecessarily rare. Lets say theoretically we put back all legit items that were destroyed through houses falling down. These items would probably sustain a population of 80-120 online average? Where's the solution to growth? There is none. These items wouldn't support a population of 1000 and wouldn't accurately reflect the servers health in terms of population. If the server remained at 20 average there'd be too many items.

Better you just keep it like it is. House dies. Items die. End of story.
Better the focus be put on ways for players to obtain more items through methods like crafting, rewarded for events, rewarded for roleplaying etc. These methods would be much more long-term and growth supportive than simply recycling the old.

Knux 04-16-2011 01:17 AM

I just think as long as it's 0%, you can't get in, but as long as you get it back up to 100% you can go back in and what not. This would be neat.

I totally agree with that... but there isn't enough developers to even begin to tackle the problems on this server. I'm not saying that this would be the best solution either. It is a solution for now... to keep some items flowing. it is better to have something than nothing... there is currently nothing that keeps newer players trading. that is one of the main focuses of this game is the economy/trading.

I would like to see a new kingdoms server that uses the same concept... just revamp everything and make actual quests, storylines, world map, ect. That i would dedicate more time to and more of the older players would come to play. But, they would have to keep it updated and such or it would end up the same way as this server has.

I'm not talking about it flowing from player to player. But if someone quits for a year or whatever, they should be able to come back and get their stuff eventually. Especially if they just randomly aren't able to get online for a long time to repair the damn thing anyway..
