On the rare occasions I make graphics, I use PSP7 and PSP9 - and like Codein said, I too stay away from filters and whatnot.

BonzaiXxXSRStudios 08-05-2007 10:47 PM

Yea, i could understand

I gotta fear of the filters too. XD Well atleast now i do. ;D

theHAWKER 08-05-2007 11:49 PM

zokemon 08-06-2007 01:03 AM

kekekeke

I use MS Paint, but I have PSP7 and Photoshop around for random times that I need them. Photoshop is mostly used for web design and making pngs indexed though. lol

Photoshop has many uses, much more than just webdesign. It's ludicrous to say that it's mostly used for webdesign when in fact it's not, it is, as the name suggests, software used in the post-production or post-production of photos (and which it is most commonly used for) =P

In fact, when I visited a professional graphics design company whilst under work experience, they used InDesign for web design =P

This is pretty much the standard in the industry today. Don't forget that Illustrator plays a large role also, for large-scale projects.

The company I was working for was in the process of replacing Illustrator with InDesign when it came to designing websites.

I meant that Illustrator will be used for things such as those that require dramatic enlargement or shrinking. Being vector-based, Illustrator can enlarge a stamp-sized picture to something larger than a billboard without any quality loss. Things like that are rather irreplacable. :D

Not really. The image has to be a vector to enlarge without any quality loss and a photograph of a stamp would be a raster graphic, which would lose quality if you enlarge it. InDesign can handle vectors. Infact, Photoshop has vector capabilities aswell.

That was exactly what I was thinking about when I watched the pictures of the tiles. A tree even in a 2d game. The tree you made was about as big as the player it self. In real life that would make the player about 10 meters high.

Pimmeh 11-26-2007 03:47 PM

And some are half the size of your average bungalow.

It's good that you're remaining positive regardless of some harsh posts, even though the majority of the posts are constructive criticism. Everything i would've said about your images, tilesets, and hiring methods, have been stated already, therefore my purpose is no longer needed here.

Good luck with your server.
