Hella sexy. The trunk just looks off, to be holding that much weight ontop of such a weird bend...

Well I didn't forget about this :)
I started the whole right side over again, to see if I could get something a little more 'leaf like', instead of puffy balls of leaves.

Elk 05-29-2007 02:51 AM

looks good :) nice treestump

BlueFireX 05-29-2007 04:14 AM

Are you using that tree on a game on Byond called Naruto GOA.

xXziroXx 05-29-2007 04:18 AM

Heh, I think I know where you got you inspiration from.

(deleted link to slideshot of another game, Stefan)

Stephen 05-29-2007 04:18 AM

Actually, nope.
I've honestly never heard of that. I did get my initial inspiration from a Genesis game called Beyond Oasis, though I've steered far from that since then. I was originally going to do like BO did, and just have a rough blotchy-like style for the leaves, where the leaves weren't actually detailed, just the shades. But then I realized at this res it didn't work that well since there was so much empty space, and started to fill it. As for the style of leaves, hmm, I dunno I've seen a lot of tree's over the years, I think I probably picked up the idea of how to do it from someone on pixelation(St0ven, most likely) though I don't remember any references. As for Beyond Oasis tree:
(EDIT: those tree's in the screenshot actually look ripped)

xXziroXx 05-29-2007 04:33 AM

Heh alright, nice tree none the less.
