I found it through MPOGD.com while looking for a cool, free online mmorpg where I could level up and stuff and didn't suck.

"What was it that first attracted you to me?"
"Hm? Oh, well. You're so polite, aren't you?" - Hard Day's Night. (Possibly the [least heterosexual] line exchanged betwixt two Beatles.)

I was addicted to Tibia (Don't laugh) but I died on it and got downgraded a level, which upset me so much I left it for a while. I tried to find something to feed my online addiction. So I searched "Free online games" on google, went to some site with free online game list and saw Graal.

It sort of looked like Tibia so I thought I would give it a shot. Suddenly I couldn't stop playing. I first tried out GK and after realising I couldn't save I swore never to pay for such a ****ty 2D game. But I couldn't resist once I tried out Zone, it was the most fun I had in ages with my clothes on.

with??
I actually heard about graal from a friend because the first time they got on they just typed in a random server name and it had people getting raped so they recommended it to me as a joke and I tried and got addicted to zone. :D the player worlds gone now :'(

I started playing Graal because of its Zelda-like gameplay, and became addicted when I discovered I could make stuff for the game, and interact with people from all over the world.

Cuban 01-31-2007 03:01 AM

the fact that this was actually a free game once where we could actually get lots of different personalities

and also Enigma and Doomsday primarily enigma eventhough i hated Warcaptain

Tyhm 01-31-2007 09:13 AM

The real question - how Zelda-like can Graal really get away with being?
I mean, have you looked at a Chaotica/Chaos Continuum Map? I mean, really looked at it? Castle in the middle...town a little to the southwest of the castle...desert to the west...ocean to the southeast...Death-um-I-mean-Life mountain to the north...
Admittedly the trees were never a copyright issue...at least not a Zelda one, they're not even close...same size maybe, but not the same style...neither the old ones nor the New Leafsplosion ones...
Path tiles were pushing it, both of the bridges, the chapel, all a little bit borderline.
Mountain tiles were always safe.
The old Zora, Zelda, and Link .gifs were fairly blatant. The heads too, and there are a LOT of "I'm totally not Link" heads in the game...
Then the Dragoons, and the Dragoon heads...Gerudo Desert...

But the real question remains, I suppose rephrased: How Zelda-like does Graal really NEED to be? If you've got a game where the map isn't very Zelda-ey, and the hero goes around with bombs and arrows and magic and a hammer, does he also have to go to the Gopongona Swamp or the Mysterious Forest or fight Ganondorf with the Master Sword?
Or is it enough to attack Kull with a bloody axe?

Hawk 01-31-2007 09:19 AM

Good point but i'd rather that then Graal "Kingdoms"

_Z3phyr_ 01-31-2007 09:55 AM

stnrdood 02-01-2007 05:54 AM

My brother Spike Speigal got me into playing Era and I have been ever since.

Glefistus 02-06-2007 07:02 AM

I started 3 years ago from MMORPG.com, never stopped playing. Lately though, ive wanted to quit. Have for some time. Im sick of the stagnant progress on classic and its bad plan, im tired of GK which needs a reset, im tired of zone and gettin killed so much due to lag then called a n00b because i hav so many deaths. Im sick of the graal community, and yet, i stay. lets face it ur best friends (yes games to) are often ur worst friends and i will probably never leave :D

Kirble 02-06-2007 08:51 PM

Err, to think back I think I got the link off a friend and then found out that I could make graphics somewhat so I'd sy it's the graphics that kept me hooked as it's something I like to do (although I suck at it pretty much haha)

But yeah, not exactly the best game but hey, it's better than nothing. :D

You don't suck, Kirble. And I hope you don't think that's the reason I fired you. Your graphic ability is fine, so don't put yourself down.

Probably because you edited it in after I posted....well, thank you anyway. :)

Kirble 02-07-2007 10:10 PM

SKrobo: Nope, I didn't actually think that but I must admit, in all honesty my graphic quality has slowly declined. I just need something that will spark my imagination etc... >_<

Zorro 02-21-2007 08:45 PM

I had been on a Zelda LTTP kick, and I went searching online for a remake or something similar to carry on the adventure (because lttp was the latest) and I came across Zelda Online. I was hooked, and that eventually evolved into Graal :)

I was looking for an online game with studly men, then I played Zelda Online, and Zorro came and carried me off into the sunset. The rest was history.
