Why does he have to? Essentially the only person he would be proving it to is you. I for one know I would be far too lazy to establish my superiority over you.

Demisis_P2P 10-13-2006 04:27 PM

I know girls that are better than Elk. Honest to god, girls.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that you're trying very hard to be funny, and as a result of this, you're becoming increasingly annoying.

Actually no, I just thought we had a stupid post trend going.

Elk make a dumb challenge, which you rebutted with an equally dumb and cliche post that reeks of 4th grade "why should I?". So I used a Simpsons quote.

Too bad some Elk's can't read.
You're posting this in a thread called 'Competition!', do you realise how senseless that is? The platform for the challenge already exists, if you'd make something and post it then perhaps you could get the ball rolling.

And regardless, your little challenges aren't really the most effective way to determine who is more talented. When you consider the nature of them they really only indicate:
1) Who has more time to devote to pixeling
2) Who is more easily inspired
and
3) Who can produce the best looking image in the time given to the criteria given (where this is almost entirely dependant on 1 and 2).

And since it seems like you normally pick the subject of the challenge, you naturally have the advantage.

He's been challenging Tyrial, but good try.

I've been reading the Graphics section of these forums for over a year and a half. I've been making graphics on Era for over three years.
So you've effectively made yourself look like a fool for being so presumptuous.

I disagree - how could Elk know him (aside from outside of the forums, which he clearly doesn't)? Demises said himself that he's new to the forums, but has been reading for a year & and a half.

I feel it's unreaslitic for Demisis to hand out such gruff as he is to Elk when he himself admis he's new and that there's no way (aside from outside of the forums, as I mentioned already) Elk could know of him.

But I'm sure Demisis will take real ultimate logic as some sort of insult on his character, a few of you fellows are under the impression I have it out for you.

Elk 10-13-2006 06:55 PM

Demesis offended me ;)

Why shouldnt I give back some comments...^^

Has Era even been around 3 yrs?

Yeah. It's been around since mid-late 2001.
It became public in 2002.
I guess like a lot of people I was influenced by Blookat's graphic style and I learnt a lot from him. I worked with him on Era up until he quit Graal, then managed to convince him to come back and work for me on a server I was making. The server was eventually ditched because Graal has too many limitations, so now Chrisz is trying to script his own game engine for our game.

I only started posting on these forums regularly when I decided to move away from a Blookat-esque graphic style into more purely pixel based art.

Elk you may not understand, as a Graphic Maker, but every NAT I've ever met has had problems with Graals limitations.

The good ones just say, "Hey, Stefan - I need this new feature for a project, could you add it?" and he usually does :)

Now thats funny

1. Not everyone has a direct connections to stefan or the higher ups like you Mr.

2. If Stefan did that he would get a ****load of request all the time compared to what he already probobly gets from other annoying ****roaches that swarm around him.

He generally only does it with his best developers.

Please use quotes, it's one of the rules. Your question is very vague because we don't know who you're responding to.

It's obvious he was replying to you. Why didn't you warn Elk of the same rule aswell? :oo:

In regards to the development comments I made, I generally don't tell Elk much, he's inclined to learn things on his own. However, I didn't really warn anyone. I just mentioned they should use quotes. A warning would have come with a infraction, and so far I've only given one of those out.

But I guess it wasn't that obvious?

It was, you're just avoiding answering his question with "Because I'm a pompous cigarrete."

I am the best pixeler ever. Want to challenge me? You already did. My submission was so good that it warped the space-time continuum to a point in reality when you didn't challenge me. That's right. I've beaten everyone on this forum and I've beaten everyone in the world hundreds of times over and they don't even know it. My pixeling skills ended communism. Look it up on Wikipedia, it's right there on the main page.

Here's an idea. Why doesn't everyone here pixel their egos? Can your processor handle an image that big? I doubt it.

If by good you mean lucky, range of skill isn't directly correlated between Knowing Stefan and not.

Generally skill is a more significant factor than luck, as I know very few people who aren't skilled that are in regular contact with Stefan from the GraalOnline community.

I'm not gloating, it's just how it is.

Yeah but I know people that are extremely skilled that don't have direct contact with Stefan, and wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting a response out of him asking for a new feature.

So the fact that some people can get new features out of Stefan to increase their bounds isn't really about skill it's about luck and who you know.
