Typing like that now-a-days does not make the process go any faster. It's a burden, and it's annoying as bloody hell.

It is annoying and actually from what I read at wikipedia, leet wasn't originally made to shorten typing, it was made to override cuss-filters. (I'm sure there's other reasons though...)
