LOL, *****, like half of graal player are American, but other are French/English (UK)/Germany/I saw a lot of people from Brazil, so no Graalians are not 95% north American.

Projectshifter 05-29-2006 01:44 AM

Not that I'm trying to be negative on Graal, but it isn't really something to be displayed at E3. The grahpics aren't really up to par, it's not "new and coming", it doesn't have anything extremely unique to show off either. It's a decent game, it has an alright playerbase, but it's almost like putting up an old time silent movie up against the special effects of the newer Star Wars movies, they don't compare. Graal3D is alright, but it's only making use of the Torque engine and it ins't unique enough to really bring enough attention.

Infernix 05-29-2006 01:49 AM

I agree with you Project Shifter,

For a 2d game its rlly not that good looking, doesnt have to good of gameplay anymore. If they want this game on E3 theyll have to do some amazing "worthwhile and gameplay improving" updates. And Im not saying those lil tiny things classic server release every 10 months.

KuJi 05-29-2006 01:59 AM

Hey about not 10,000 players. If you took ALL the members from the past, and all the old players whose account went into trial you better recount those numbers.

Graal used to hit like 1200+ daily believe it or not...yeah.. it was 4 or 5 years ago. And there was a lot of people on it daily that were new and the community never stopped growing back then.

I'd say there are over 15,000 accounts that have been made and more. Maybe Ibonic, Stefan, or Unixmad can check the rows in the accounts table to confirm this? :O

Admins 05-29-2006 02:06 AM

There are more than active 8000 accounts each week (they are not always playing at the same time). Highest playercount was 1085, although it included npcservers back then. We have things in preperation that will improve the situation, I can only say that we are just at the beginning of Graal, a lot more will come.

I'm going to call that a prophecy.

But on the topic of E3, I don't really think that Graal would be something to show there. Graal just isn't up to snuff with the other stuff there :\

Really? You should have plenty of opportunities around here. The fun in Graal is all about waiting for any fun to come! :p

Graal is certainly not E3 material. You need way more than 1000 fans to be there.

Perhaps if Graal was a game for a handheld system, it would do better, but mainstream gaming doesn't care about these graphics on a PC, and would probably like Graal 3D even less.

Spark910 05-29-2006 10:12 PM

Graal reall should hit the PSP.
The PSP can handle the graphics, no doubt there is a fairly easy porting solution, and the PSP has a wifi connection and not game like it >_<

But it would need to restrict to only Gold servers I think, GK and Zone. I wouldn't put the playerworld on it.

excaliber7388 05-29-2006 10:15 PM

Graal on the Wii!

E3 for 2006 was only $23 a square foot, so 10x10 booth would be $2300, which really isn't that bad. I finally got ahold of someone today to talk to them about it. They said prices for next year are going to go up a little bit, but they dont' have exact prices yet. You only have to pay for the booth space, then you bring in your own furniture and you can pay the place it's at to have electricity if you want it. From August 1st to October 1st they're going to try and resign previous exhibitors, and then as of October 1st they're opening it up new exhibitors, so if Stefan and Unix want to jump on that for 2007, it'd have to be done then. I figured E3 would be a lot more expensive, but it's cheap enough that I might actually setup a booth, but most likely in '08. Anyway, just thought it was interesting =)

What would you set up a booth for? The hell of it?

lol, I have a reason for setting up a booth. once I get a little further I'll share some details. I'm waiting to hear back from Microsoft about an XBox 360 Developer Kit right now.

So, in other words, yes- for the hell of it.

.. Anyways. It will be a lot of work for Stefan and Unixmad to bring the game up to par unless they are able to trust Management to other people than themselves. x-x

Yeah, stop waiting. Microsofts nerds are too busy making games, not responding to e-mails.

ViCtOrEhEhEh 05-31-2006 10:32 PM

Or everyone on Graal could send letters to XPlay so they could review Graal and since they review Graal and we hope they give good comments on it, more people would play. :D

:whatever: Hm, OK...Graal isn't being built on just by Stefan. Don't forget the scripters that make stuff happen get just credit as much as Stefan does. Plus, It's too soon for Graal to hit E3 because Sony and MS are running out of ideas....I think.... ahem.
I do think my point has been made.
