I concur. The one without the line looks great. Suggestions have already been made for, go for a midcolor that will blend better but still give a defined edge, if you really need to. The preference would be to leave it without the border at all.

This is another technique I use to do outlines, sometimes. You'll have to zoom in to see it, but I feel it has some advantages.
