RC1 allready has this feature. You can customize your own RC.

Argh. I know both modes are GTK+. I am talking about the new look of GTK+ versus the new look of the Non-Graphical Mode. Christ, Skyld, get your mind out of the gutter.

Please make the RC prettier?

Admins 01-08-2006 09:41 PM

RC2 can be customized even better, you can have transparent buttons. Also you can change the general look by configuring the GTK theme.
About Linux: On linux you can customize the look of the desktop a lot, I don't think you have "one" Linux look :)

Explain what you mean when you say "new look of GTK+".

The crappy-wannabe-win32 style. You can tell when an application uses GTK+ instead of Win32 API just from looking at the controls.

Darklux 01-09-2006 12:48 AM

The old style wasnt bad but a new more functional style would be better (atleast in my opinion)

Angel_Light 01-09-2006 04:01 AM

Skyld's mind IS the gutter. :P I agree with napo, chose your own skin.

talkingnoodle 01-09-2006 05:33 AM

Please tell us how to change the general look, the default is just ugly to be blunt.

Angel_Light 01-10-2006 02:43 AM

Then again ... it's even easier to search it.

No, it's not. GTK is a cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac) toolkit for making windows (composed of widgets, which are things like radio buttons, edit boxes, checkboxes, etc). More simply, it is like Graal's new GUI features except you use it for the program design itself. This is kind of a bad explanation, someone else is welcome to give it a shot :)

Angel_Light 01-10-2006 03:59 AM

oh......

It took him a day to tell you to google, and it took me twenty seconds to search and find this (the very first page when you search GTK+ on google): http://www.gtk.org/

talkingnoodle 01-10-2006 10:35 PM

wat does 'the gimp' program have to do with rc 2

"The Gimp" people wrote GTK, which as CheeToS explained, is a GUI toolkit.

RC2 uses this toolkit for displaying windows, widgets and the sort.

Angel_Light 01-11-2006 03:57 AM

No-One has still answered my question. When will it be released?

Inverness 01-11-2006 11:44 PM

And how can we change the look, is it possible for it to adapt the current windows theme or a variation?

This is the stupidest question ever asked. The answer is fairly obvious: 'When it is done.'

Hm, the playerlist could technically be made external using gtk or so, not sure if Stefan would be willing to do that though. The scripted playerlist is quite effective, though.

Angel_Light 01-13-2006 03:52 AM

Where has it been answered? there been no time period given and for you smart ass's out there don't say the future

Hey buddy, how is it stupid to wonder about when something's going to be released?

Angel_Light 01-13-2006 04:01 AM

GTk Theming.... o.o; What's that suppose to mean?
