1.39v2 here, on Delteria, Dino Valley, and Elven Lands, not in that order though.

Infernix 08-27-2005 05:38 AM

Who cares? I was like 10 or 11 when I started to play in 1999. no clue wtf that was but I surely dont care. And Im still considered a oldbie by people. I dont have to go bosting it around or somthing. A real oldbie would know it doesnt matter.

Newbie4Lyfe right here thats when it was fun.

Nope, 1.28 was a good deal later than that, almost positive.

Also, you started a good amount of time after I did, so yeah, it had to be mid 1.3's.

Haunter, 1.41 would either be late 2000 or early 2001.

1.38 was uh, august or september of 2000, that's a version I remember well in particluar for reasons I'm not going into.

I started actually really playing a lot early-mid 1.3's, around the beginning of 2000. I first installed and checked out graal late 99.

My friend told me about it at the beginning of 8th grade... In September or October... And 8th grade was 2000-2001 for me I think... I remember watching the September 11th crap on the TV in grade 9.

I dont know, I could've started with 1.38... I just remember 1.41 the most.

Anyone who said I bragged and that I lack common sense have sealed their mental futures forever
This thread was ment for something different but once again a bunch of ****y little punkasses ruined it
graal is known for that
i love it none the less -.-

Except you're an idiot... which puts you in a position where you can't say that.

Zurkiba 08-27-2005 06:18 AM

I've been playing nonstop since 1.2.1.1

Spiker 08-27-2005 06:22 AM

I have played since the begining, doesnt seem like it, but i waan't playing graal kingdoms. Anyways, i was always on a trail accounts having this BIG peice of paper looking for "sethead af-head2.png" and other stuff all the time, because i forgot what they were, i had about 3 long papers like that, but now, im graal VIP friends with bjorn, sam, stefan and smallLars, woot, i love graal! :whatever:

In the begginning, there were no trial accounts.

MKxTortoise 08-27-2005 06:54 AM

Gamba could you be any more pretentious? You're so oldbie you have an underscore in your name and follow it up with Legend right? Then you make posts about how you played before v2.0?

Seriously you'll get more credit actually playing than by asking to be worshipped.

Inspiration 08-27-2005 07:50 AM

The real truth is, most of the people who are really "oldbies" know who eachother are.

Nearly everyone left who played before the P2P or 2k1 revolutions knows eachother quite well.

So making a thread to announce what you believe to be an oldbie is, is fairly pointless.

Plus, each server has its own olbies and legends. I personally wouldnt consider anyone who started on anything but original graal to be an oldbie, but this is from my perspective.

For someone who started playing this year, someone who started playing in 2003 is an oldbie.

Both Googi and Kaimetsu were considered legends and oldbies on this forum, and yet I played a year or more between either of them. Doesnt really mean anything in the end.

--Chris-- 08-27-2005 08:07 AM

Gamba, if you're trying to be extremely sarcastic to mock the type of person you're posing to be in this thread you're doing a great job at amusing me.

Zero Hour 08-27-2005 08:17 AM

I've been playing since the logon screen with the newb riding the horse - whenever that was.

Polo 08-27-2005 12:16 PM

Played consistently since September 99, Version 1.28 (Which had the horse, but was not first to have the horse).

I think oldbie is as much defined by someones attitude and valor, as the time for which they have played.

Smutastic 08-27-2005 12:42 PM

I'm suprised this isn't a Zone thread, wow.
Anyways, I've been playing for too long :(. All I remember is that I didn't have to pay when I started.

syltburk 08-27-2005 01:32 PM

Dont even remember the earliest version I played.. never cared really

Zurkiba 08-27-2005 03:15 PM

Personally - I find this thread to have already evolved in a situation where people no one has heard of make stuff up. Like did you know that nearly 99% of all new people actually started with Zelda Online and have been loyal ever since?

Spiker gave us a prime example of what the majority of people do because they think that your clout and popularity is based around when you started. I'll straight up tell you that I've never even played Zelda Online. I started at a time when there was only one server: Graal Main Server.

BadKillah 08-27-2005 03:43 PM

:o

Well, I consider myself an oldbie because I'm old? I've played graal since '98 Classic and I forgot which version I had then but I do have all the tilesets and I practically saved every level in case they would disable that option!

Actually, the first version I had was 1.28, because I still have it...I could't play alot though because I had a very slow modem and froze up or it took 30 minutes just to get through a door

For some parts, it's still like that for me.

Yeah but storm just confirmed what I said, 1.28 was late 99, not 98 ;p

xAndrewx 08-27-2005 08:25 PM

Good times! I remember I downloaded the really old levels pack to try to play when my dialup died, and wondering why it was different in some places to the online version.
Then there was the time I got lost in Kharlia. Whew, I was confused. And then I wanted a blue name instead of a gold one, and I was told to hit someone. I did that, killed them, lost AP, and then was free game for all the elitist PKers. ;)

--Chris-- 08-28-2005 05:46 AM

Oldbie in my opinion is someone with vast knowledge and skill.

I mean..I could have joined day 1 and only start back today and call myself an oldbie or play once a week for 1 year compared to someone that joined 6 months after me and played every and call them a newbie...but that won't be very logical.

and yes you're a 2.05 noob so thanks for sharing?
Before 2.0 i never remembered all these 11-15 year olds posting their "witty" and "intelligent" remarks all over the place
i wanted to kinda make a community outta this
so you n00bs over here (you know who you are)...plz go over there (not in here)
thanks :)

You think you are pretty hot stuff hey?

Don't worry that will pass once you get a little older and get your ass handed to you by the world...

Shiftk03- 08-28-2005 06:23 AM

I don't group people into different categories. Whether you've been wasting your life since 1945 or just started today, it's all the same damn thing. Just play the game and shut up.

lol, I assume that you are talking about the house on Classic. I think it was Deeto's house?
I got alot of kills and deaths defending my spot atop that house, lol
Yea, I tend to pick a certain spot that I like, and stay there alot ;)

That was actually after I got a better modem

No! But if in your profile, you set your favorite hangout to "Zelda Online" then it does!
