If you can't understand what I said then you don't know the mechanics of the game enough and shouldn't be posting here.

Oh, so newbies cant post? Thanks for the info.

Damix2 12-07-2005 11:11 PM

Where did I say can't?

And no, they shouldn't be, they should have a good understanding of the game before they say anything about it

How many newbies knows the game mechanics well?

And i do have, but you obviously dont get my point. If the players choosing a race got the bonus the race had, ONLY these people would get extra, but then get less in another stat, so the players who didn't choose a class will have max 20/20/20, and the ones choosing for example and orc will get 19/23/20. Is that really so unbalanced? I'll give you another example, an elf might have 20/26/18 and so on. This means that WITH items their max is 26 in a specific stat.

Damix2 12-07-2005 11:22 PM

Yes, that is unbalancing the game, if you REALLY wanted to do that, thats why we have classes, races are just a needless add-on

Actually you might be on to something.. It could be nice if classes had stat bonuses, giving them a point.

Damix2 12-07-2005 11:26 PM

They have a point right now, the point just doesn't last long.

Anyway, if it can't be races, we should atleast add orcs, elves and stuff as monsters/baddies.

No, but I've seen green orcs. Since there is an orc head out there already.

Adding new graphics for races and letting people decide on their own? Fine with me.

Adding new game mechanics to an already messed up system? No.

Well then, a lasting point. But on to the races subject.

Another easy way to create races would be simply to create the heads, hairs and bodys and then you would be able to set your race manually by using /sethead, and getting yourself the haircut you want.

The clothes could be chosen in the character creation screen. It should be like the clothe changers in zone, would make you able to get much more into your RP role from the start.

CidNight1142 12-07-2005 11:59 PM

I mean, theoretically the race and class system for add ons and downfalls (like an elf thief would have really high dex, but very low constitution, or a human warrior might be the standard at fairly even stats). It works great in D&D and has for decades. The downfall is, it really probably would require a reset. Thus, its null.

Exactly, but someone should make a poll and see if the majority wants a reset (Thats if it hasn't been done allready of course :)).

It has, and it doesn't matter, GK won't be reset, and it shouldn't be.

You have stated your opinion, but i still think it would do good. I have done the math and found more positive things than negative.

Googi 12-08-2005 07:45 PM

Even I think that too much stuff has been added to the game to start making new races.

GK won't be reset is not an opinion its fact.

And if you think just a reset itself will help then you really shouldn't be posting here.

Googi 12-08-2005 09:02 PM

Like I said before, a reset is an ultimate last resort. It's something to be done when and only when your server has no players left. Until then nerfing is always a better option.

How would anyone notice if no one plays there?

And to Damix: I know, but i meant that of course it wont happen, but i just think it'll be best.

Because you'd announce it.

Where would you announce it if nobody checked the server? And if most of the people playing didn't check the website?

Also, if GK lost every player it had except for a few people, others would give up on it, cause in such an extreme situation people would have somehow realized it wouldn't change, and then thinking that not even a reset would help.

Please, show your maturity, don't call me idiot and try to hide it.

And There are not many of the 12-13 year players playing Graal who even knows what the homepage is rather than the downloading place.

Anyway i find it pointless to argue with you, when was your last positive post? You should really start looking for the positive in stuff, there will ALWAYS be downsides when you add a feature, but everything must be perfect. I bet that if some feature was added without your knowledge you wouldn't even notice the downside that you spent like 4 hours to find.

Show yours by not suggesting ideas that are going no where. I don't need to be positive with your posts, why? Because you haven't had one good suggestion yet.

Please watch your behavior - You go too far by calling one another idiots. And before you lay judgement upon others, and their opinions - please question, "Who am I to judge them, and in what place am I to do that?"

If you can go further than to point out the errors people have made, and make an attempt to show them where they went wrong it's usually more helpful.

I've told him to think of the reprecussions of his suggestions before posting, he doesn't listen

Then help him see the errors he's made, perhaps in explaining them you'll understand some of the errors you've made.

Agreed and apparently Damix hasn't seen my "The Big Suggestion Thread". I have made like 10 suggestions that some people found pretty nice.

And how is it not mature to post a suggestion? Just stop trying to be better, post something nice!
