Nice. The only things i would change would be the grass looking tiles on top of the houses, and re-arrange everything. Try to think of what a REAL town would look like xD.

Xcessive54321 04-11-2005 09:15 PM

xd. i dont know what the setting of graal is lol :D i know its along time ago then they make stoves, and they still have horses that people ride, and they have cars lol :D

zim5354 04-11-2005 10:57 PM

each server has its own setting.

Eagle 04-12-2005 01:26 AM

When you hit "Select tile" in the editor, play with the tiles under the house ones that look like a tree. You will get it sooner or later.

Xcessive54321 04-12-2005 02:22 AM

o.o yeah, i keep getting a grass peice when i try :D

That looks much better. Still isn't the best level, but that looks way better. It won't hurt to even add a bit more trees, but don't over do it. Try to add some dirt to your paths, dirt always looks nice in levels.

<Edit> Some area's in your path don't look quite finished.. </Edit>

Xcessive54321 04-13-2005 02:09 AM

should i change the road to a dirt path? lol and ill take the table stuff and put trees :D

Well, you will probably need practice making sand paths. Don't use the path generater, then look ugly.. Try to make it by hand, thats why I said you may need practice. You can certaintly try if you want, though.

Also, i'm suprised that I don't see any tile errors in the swamp. Good job, most beginners make alot of mistakes in the swamp areas.

Xcessive54321 04-13-2005 03:36 AM

thanks, ill do those soon

heres what i have so far XD

Crono 04-13-2005 04:28 PM

NEVER USE PRE-DEFINED ROADS! EVER! Why? They look ugly. Only use them if you want to set up a layout but please do edit them. =[

Xcessive54321 04-13-2005 04:31 PM

i only have it like that for right now because i wanted to see what you guys think XD

Getting better. I've circled around your tile errors (red), and things that I personally think could be done another way (yellow).

There's a better tile you can use for the cave entrance which isn't so dark and matches the surrounding tiles perfectly, and those tables could perhaps be more table and less chairs. Just a thought O_o;

Xcessive54321 04-13-2005 05:12 PM

thanks, ill fix them soon :D

Eagle 04-13-2005 08:36 PM

Yeah dude, don't use the path NPC. Try to make them yourself, they look a lot better.

Benm00t 04-13-2005 09:01 PM

I would try and stay away from being so symmetrical. Your level looks almost mirrored on each side, which isn't too great.

xManiamaNx 04-13-2005 10:22 PM

Bunch of tile errors, and too many predefined objects.

Learn to spell. Research and use other levels for reference. Think before you type.

syltburk 04-23-2005 10:20 PM

What you need is:

A good layout.
Tiling.

xXDuMajuXx 04-24-2005 11:41 PM

I don't know why, but the under-average levels get the most attention :O

zim5354 04-25-2005 12:04 AM

lol true

KuJi 04-25-2005 11:09 AM

Maybe it is my computer...but I don't even see the main1.png picture. Does anyone else see it?

1) People want to yell at the person making the under-average levels out of thier own joy.
2) They wish to help the person develope their currently undeveloped skills.

Lord Sephiroth 04-26-2005 06:00 AM

haha, people are soo harsh on these forums.. right just to cheer you up a little i'll put the right info that you should take in in a more positive way.. (wants the point about negative about it all?) anyway so I see you've useda lot of pre-made stuff and thats not really good to use, you want to make your level completely different to anyone elses.. also try to use tiles that fit with each other.. e.g. dirt paths.. then randomly put in bushes/long grass. try to also use less of those tiles and make it more detailed about what you're creating.. if you need some ideas there is a massive tutorial pack on my site of headtrash.net/graal (graalfanatic.xs3.com) if it doesnt work when you click or go to the site just try another time.. it was created by wandaman and its under heavy work.. if you cant find the tool just use the useful search site search engine. type in levels.

Xcessive54321 08-05-2005 07:38 PM

Well, Im coming back.

Ive been mapping on my 3 games ive made and ive done many things. Tell me what to make.

Judge_S 08-05-2005 08:04 PM

I don't really think that warranted bumping a 3-month dead post. (See: Hello and Goodbyes Forum)

xXDuMajuXx 08-06-2005 12:10 PM

Nobody's going to tell you what to make. You have to be creative and come up with ideas yourself.

I second that.
