What's all this fuss about?
Anyway, Maybe this will get the topic back on track? I actually better understand gscript2 than I do gscript1. Concatenation definitely makes a lot more sense. Some things are still a little bit confusing, but it definitely makes things tons easier. I can't wait until it goes clientside. |

And, in addition, not if the statement of superiority doesn't imply any particularly elite state. If you were to claim that you were more intelligent than a cat, for example, I would not call it a symptom of pride; it is simply a true statement. Quote:

Anyway, I ignored your point partly because I had difficulty deciphering it and partly because it didn't appear to say anything relevant to the debate. Now you are ignoring mine. Why? |

If a person falsely claims to be superior to another, it is indicative of pride (undue in this case), and can be an example of arrogance. See how the truth value of the claim can modify the applicability of the label? Quote:
Yeah. And it's utterly irrelevant. If you use 'of' to contrast a 'your', you are implicitly using it to speak of possession. Otherwise it doesn't make sense.
I suppose this matter isn't important, and i can see that your stubborness blinds you from the truth here. Even when you are wrong, you defend it with "No, it isn't" until death, i swear..... |

Am I stubborn because I think you're wrong? Then why doesn't the same apply to you? What uncertainty in my arguments? And dude, you cannot make accusations like that after saying "your stubborness blinds you from the truth". You think you're right, I think I'm right. What's the difference? Stop being so hypocritical. Quote:
The reality is that nobody can function as a normal human being without belief. You need to believe that the sun will rise, that gravity will keep us glued to the floor, that speeding cars can hurt us. We believe these things because, assuming certain axioms, they conform to our experiences and increase our chances of acting in an efficient manner. Your arguments are essentially that we should ignore everything that we see or learn. Perhaps this explains quite a lot. Quote:

Falco, just to let you know (as I am a neutral bystander), your arguements are flawed and anything you have said countering Kaimetsu has been idiotic. I would advise stopping all activites conflicting with Kaimetsu. You will end up in a state of illusion, thinking you won the debate. You haven't won. You make yourself look like a *****. Once again I advise you to cease this activity, admit defeat, and learn.

I agree with soul blade, you aren't winning in this debate, your arguements are beyond flawed, I'd suggest keeping quiet, and letting the thread die.

The point is, all you've done is accuse him of things, and then fail to provide any evidence when it is called for. Whats the point of arguing if you can't prove your point? |

So very tedious. Quote:

Of course, that might not work out for you. Already two people have disagreed with the opinions you assigned to them :) Quote:

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with ignoring sections of a person's post. It depends on the circumstance. In this instance, I ignored your 'point' because my own paragraph already covered the topic. Quote:

The point is simple: Every error is acceptable within certain circles. Your earlier lie-determination system falls down. Quote:
There is nothing inherently wrong with making claims. But there is a difference between submitting a new point for your consideration and asserting the truth of something that's already in dispute. Quote:

As for the debate, what if the cat claimed to have a better understanding than you of some particular mathematical concept? Would that not be quite arrogant? Would it be arrogant of you to mention this, citing that you are the superior mathematician? I didn't declare my superiority capriciously; it was in response to an issue that revolved around our relative abilities. Given that my claim was also true, there is no reason to interpret it as an act of pride. Who could be proud of being superior to you? Quote:

Basically this argument has turned into me insulting you and you saying I can't debate, there is no point in continuing this. I definitely wouldn't mind a moderator closing this. We are WAY offtopic in our argument (started out about gs1 to gs2, now it's about us being petty)

your posts are useless, when you quit graal, stay the hell away from the forums. and btw, that wasn't me admitting defeat, that was me admitting im sick of this argument.

BACK ON SUBJECT!
Can someone clearly explain the new commands, especially the GUI commands? *looks at stefan* |

HTML is becoming a better language, but it still gives me problems because you can't do anything with math in determining the location of an object unless you use javascript, and javascript hates me (meaning I only know what I've used in certain scripts, and can't figure out what to use to get what I want). And I only know the basic things of C++. Also, I don't personally count gs1 and gs2 as scripting languages. However, gs2 is a great improvement upon gs1. |

You must not only have your mind set on learning the specific programming language, or type of code but you must also have to brain capacity to do so. If you cannot fully understand, do not try javascript or php or any language because that is used as a basis of web page design. Although graal script is getting a bit harder, it still remains to be a basis of harder languages and is as basic as you can get. I recommend you make sure you fully understand arithmetic, trig, and have the capacity to take on another language.
Although most people don't seem to think so, I consider a programming language to be thought of as a foreign language. You cannot just start French, Spanish, and Latin all at the same time, unless your exceptionally smart. You need to start with one, and then once you have mastered that language move onto the next one. As I recall I took Spanish, then French and Latin last, to ensure I made it as easy for myself as possible and to make sure I covered all I needed to know in high school. |
