Not that I am implying I don't want to hear your opinion, believe me, I do, but you already gave this same opinion previously in the thread, so it seems a bit redundant to give it again. Although, it is your right to do so, if it floats your boat. ^^

I was reffering too the 3rd level.

The second set looks better :)
Just have a tile error on the tops of the trees on the outside one, but it looks better

Too bad, because who's going to be using levels? Playerworlds and people will be playing them. You liking it and them liking it = 2 different things. ;)

I think it's important that people try to make levels they like. It provides motivation and may spark creativity. Of course, afterwards things may be editted.

You may like it like that... It may have been on purpose... But that doesn't stop it from being messy.

Explain what is "messy" about it? It was designed for a purpose, it is serving it's purpose. ^^

This is an offline world, I am making it for myself, and even if someone else played on it, it's my creation, and I create it how I like it, that's just something they will have to deal with. :)

I am confused, in your first post you said you were suddenly being forced to redo/make levels, and now you are saying you are doing it for yourself for fun?

Anyway, you posted the levels here, and asked people what they thought, then when they tell you what they think, you tell them that you dont care, that you like it.
There is some good advice here to improve your levels, my suggestion would be to at least consider what others have to say if it is constructive
:)

I am taking the advicee, and very much considering it. :) Some things though, like the swamp, I did it that way on purpose, not in error. :) I obtained a desired end result from the way that I did the swamp. :)

Evil_Trunks 01-25-2005 04:23 AM

I think your levels are very nice!

Even the outside one.

It's not pieced together to flow, like the 4tiles in the right places (like they're set up on the tileset). So it's messy. I'm not saying it's WRONG... I don't particularly like it like that, but that's just me. It's still messy nonetheless.

I don't want them to be able to be chopped down, if I connect them as displayed in the tileset, they will be choppable, they are for "walking in" effects only.

zell12 01-25-2005 07:25 AM

You dont have to make them chopable. :/

haunter 01-25-2005 07:39 AM

I never said you had to make the chopable. I said they were messy! Just because you made them like that on purpose, just because that's part of the design, doesn't stop them from being messy! I can style my hair in a "messy" way if I want! Why? Because I think it looks good!

No matter how much you like it, no matter how intentional that is, it's never going to stop being messy.

zell12 01-25-2005 07:53 AM

rgr dgr Pick up that M4A1 Carbine Quick!

Anyway man, if you want to make your own style that looks messy, you are better off making your own tiles. :p

*really does it* :D

Amagad, ya, my tank was uber. ^^

For those who are tank-clueless, here is the tank.

The graphics are deliberately corny, but it was the gani that did it, the tank bounced and made "boing" sounds while a guy rode on it, and when you fired, it shot out more tanks. :P

Snakeandy7 01-26-2005 05:32 PM

*****, :D.

Just a quick observation here frolll (start answering on aim or im gonna poke you with a cattle prod)...

You asked "What do you think" about your levels. That's a no no.. If you don't think it looks fresh against the "graal standards", then try again. Have you ever seen a house on graal that had more than 3 brick stepping stones in the grass? Have you ever seen one that had the whole level full of stepping stones? Exactly my point. That's just not the way it is done. Try to use realistic 'movements' in your levels. Try this:

Grass contains:

Water contains:

Houses contain:

Mountains contain:

Etc.. make a list of realistic things that are seen in each area around your life. I hope you don't have little red pots all over your floor, man. :frown:

I do, and they are all full of yin-yangs. :D
