Congrats to Growlz, but who is Calani? I hope its not that chick that used to go by the name of ASM back on Babylon. :\

nullify 09-01-2004 05:29 PM

Growlz shall add actual competence to the PWA roster. Who'd 'a thunk it?

Globals weren't allowed to recommend, or am I thinking about a different thing?

I also find a scripting PWA useless since the GST are the ones that end up reviewing the server's scripts anyway...

Do you even know anyone on the pre-hiring roster?

--Chris-- 09-01-2004 07:00 PM

I don't believe scripting falls under the PWAs responsibility, it's just a perk for PWs if she wants to be helpful, no?

Yeah basically, but they can of course advise with scripting - answer various scripting questions playerworld staff may have, and it will be useful with some inspections.

Splke 09-01-2004 08:22 PM

Doesn't suprise me that Calani got it... -shrug-

Do a good job, maybe I'll have some respect then.

ZeroTrack 09-01-2004 08:32 PM

GrowlZ!!!! haha good pick, remember our late scripting nites on Sanstrata? haha good times =D

And another note to what spark said. PWA's review the playerworld, and the GST review the scripts, and make sure everything is secure, works functionally, etc.

Have never publicly voiced their opinion about a disagreement with something that Graal Online has done. ;)

Care to clear up this muddled statement you made here? If you are talking about me I have no problem voicing my opinion about something, even if it may rub Graal the wrong way. I have had no disagreement with the Game or Unixmad/Stefan.

Gambet 09-01-2004 11:31 PM

I still have no clue who in the world Calani is.

Malinko 09-02-2004 12:18 AM

Calani is former Admin of Babylon, former since she is PWA now. Though, many know her as ASM. She was a N-Pulse GP at some point to? Anyways, good luck calani! You'll do great.

Oh and GrowlZ, good job buddy even though I said that before xD.

Gambet 09-02-2004 12:28 AM

Does Calani know she's PWA? i mean...she hasnt even posted xD. Well, someone mustve informed her by now?

Malinko 09-02-2004 12:29 AM

Indeed she does, she doesn't post on the forums much I think?

Just for the sake of argument, do a search for account VampiricTutorNewHD.

You need to earn your way back into the community by being a nice guy. You can't just say "GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE RIGHT NOW!".

I changed so that I would be allowed back here. I never would have thought I'd have gotten PWA and was very pleased and surprised. Other people can be given second chances too if they try and they didn't do something catastophic to be expelled from the community.

Darlene159 09-02-2004 12:46 AM

wow, ASM??
I didnt know it was her

VT is cool .

And a good PWA too.

Inverness 09-02-2004 01:05 AM

Congrats to the new PWA

Yeah, the Globals opinions were asked on the applicant list to see if there was anything I didn't yet know. Most people who only got a single person with a not-so-bad thing against them were still put into the run - but a few people in agreement on some issues meant that some people didn't get far.

Next time you put out an application, you should make it clear that those who have done things in the past, or whatever, won't be selected, which I think is stupid. Also, if anyone should be picking PWAs, I think it should be the Playerworld Administrator and higher, not random select GSTs and such.

Gambet 09-02-2004 01:58 AM

You mean, you asked the globals what they though of the applicants?, because global opinions wernt part of the application.

What i mean is that, global recommendations and/or opinions on the applicant, wasnt part of the required/optional fields in the application.

calani 09-02-2004 02:21 AM

Yes, its me ^_^
I finally got my forum account fixed.. took me awhile to get the password reset, so I'll be posting more actively now.
Anyways, I'll do my best. =)

Curt1zzle 09-02-2004 02:25 AM

I personally don't think any global should have any say as to who gets hired.....at all. Nobody but Spark should....

That makes them above others, preventing people from voicing their oppinions and getting on their bad side...being afraid it will come back and bite you in the ass. Which only leads to bad things.

Gambet 09-02-2004 02:33 AM

Im sure everyone who didnt make it was dissapointed, but you also have to understand that when applying for a job, you have to be ready for rejection. If other globals had a say in who got picked or not, doesnt really matter. Im sure Spark knows what he's doing and im sure GrowlZ and Calani will do a great job.

Of course, many people probably thought they did well in the application. Of course, i did also, but also, i knew that there were a lot of other applications which were probably good also. You just have to have faith in the people who were chosen.

It doesnt really matter if globals had/have/or will ever have a say in who should be picked. Why?, well, simply because if global hirings were based on that, then the new globals they hire might not do such a great job. Eventually, they could only blame themselves for basing the hirings on that, and im sure it would be changed. Either way, its all a matter of time.

Hope this made sense. ^^

--Chris-- 09-02-2004 05:12 AM

Oh come on Dark<whatsyourface>, what you just stated seems pretty ignorant, undetailed, vague and one sided. I doubt anyone in this forum is acknowledging your attempt to slander nor is it going to significantly affect anything . Try to avoid something that can turn into a flame war and straying off topic. This type of crap is always expected and seen in these threads, why aren't they just locked from the beginning? e_e

I asked theit opinion on peoples past record, because I can't know anything - and don't wish to hire someone who was bad. Unless it was something bad or everyone sincerly had good reasons against someone it made no difference.

ThinkDifferent 09-02-2004 01:49 PM

Just for the record chris Darkshadows_Legend has been playing npulse for much longer than most people and therefore knows what he is talking about.

Well, if the person did bad in the past and has been showing signs of improvement, do they not deserve a second chance?
So, basically, if someone made a review that blew your mind but the other globals didnt like them, they wouldnt get hired? Seems quite bias. :\

NOTE: This is just an example, im not referring to anyone.

She doesnt even stay in touch with us and yet she's supposed to handle all our problems? Strange indeed.

I agree with Mykel, you have to be a goody to-shoes to make it to PWA. I can already name 1 person who would have made a kickass PWA but didnt make it.

-coughs thallen coughs-

Gambet 09-02-2004 03:44 PM

Crono, your the most negative person in the forums. You say something negative about just about EVERY thread. You're lucky you havnt even been banned from the forums yet. Spark knows what he's doing, and quite frankly, this thread shouldve been closed ever since he announced the PWA's.

I have, for 1 week and that was unjust. I'm not doing ANYTHING AGAINST THE RULES.

Most staff know what they're doing but who would you hire?

Someone with good potential (spelling?) who's not afraid to speak against the authority for good reasons?

Or some good goody who you think will do great?

Growlz I know will do great, I wont go any further as that's just complaining and stupid to do at the moment.

Nappa 09-02-2004 03:50 PM

GrowlZ = Good

Edit by Spark: Nothing useful to say? Don't even type.

And Crono is awesome, he should of got the position. I personally didn't try out because I know some of the higher up staff have personal vendettas against me, but eh. Whatever, I get to help out on PWs anyway (Sometimes acting as Lances assistant by request)

They get second chances. I certainly did.

That would depend on why the global didn't like them. If they didn't like them because they went around cussing or were sexually harassing people, then that's certainly a legitimate reason. If it is because that person beat the global in a spar tournement, that is not a legitimate reason. I'm not saying those were actual accusations, those are just an example.

EDIT: Being an ungracious non-hiree doesn't look too good either. Those of you who are bashing should straighten up if you hope to become anything positive in this community.
