Yo, I'm up for making the stuff if I see some sort of motion set in forth. I have idea for those "Gandolas" (A GANDOLA IS NOT A BOAT, IT IS A SKY RESORT LIFT THING OKKK? KK!) things you guys planned, just need some sort of initiave.

GryffonDurime 04-29-2004 02:55 AM

Hoe about for iniative, I threaten to do bad things to that rabid morphine addicted dog in your sig with a croquet mallet...or your iniative could be that 2k1 is having a mini-intrest serge here

I love it when people use their brains.

So why don't you proove me wrong, again?
I do not like you, why? what has made me not like you ^^

what's a brain

Brad 04-29-2004 11:05 AM

In this entire thread staff are claiming its not their fault. Lance it IS your fault and I am using my brain. A developer is supposed to run and manage the server. If your team wasn't doing their job you can go out and get more people. Wan is one of the best level makers in graal now and you shoot him down for...oh wait no staff. You are no longer active on the project, give it to someone who will be.

GryffonDurime 04-29-2004 11:56 AM

All we ask (we meaning me and Shadowless so far as I know) is more organization- no one knew what they were supposed to be doing.

--Chris-- 04-29-2004 02:53 PM

Brad skill isn't the only issue when hiring a new staff member. Scott, Haunter, guys...a manager's responsibility is to moderate and co-ordinate what we're doing. We know our priorities, we don't have to rely on him to tell us. What are we waiting for? Lay off Lance, it's not him...I'd say it's us >_>

Mabey so, but I believe Shadowless may have the responsibilities to be the manager if anything goes through. Lay of Lance? he's the manager we can't really do anything else..

Don't know how old this is, but it's the stupidest post on the forums.

I've seen Lance on Era more than I have seen him on 2k1.

A friend of mine and myself came up with an idea that could replace hats. Basically, it would be more than just collecting and showing. Let's say for example- if you could collect hats, wear them, and then go to an arena and have hat fights. Some hats would be stronger than others. Some would be faster. Some would have more accuracy. However, it wouldn't take over the the game- so it wouldn't be like collecting weapons (and other items) on GK- where that becomes the main thing to do. Anyhow, as for what my idea actually was, I told it to several people- some said they had similar ideas already. It hasn't been done to my knowledge and as of now, I'm having a PW do it.

protagonist 05-02-2004 05:51 AM

LOL@HAT FIGHTS!

I don't know how good or bad an idea it is, but it is very funny sounding when taken out of context.

Lucreto 05-02-2004 07:42 AM

Hmm dont you think kingdoms has the same fate as graal2001?
With graal 3d being made it'll definately take alot of the member base from normal graal though depends if people like 3d better then 2d.

brock128 05-02-2004 04:01 PM

Unless my sources are wrong, Graal 3d is basically a 3d clone of a 2d clone of a 3d mmorpg.

Basically, it's a 3d version of 2k2 which is a 2d version of everquest.

Awesome.

You have an obligation to provide a server for the players. The players do not have an obligation to play it.

If you truly fixed everything and made it nice and playable, then people would WANT to play it. You can't blame people for not wanting to waste their time on a server that is seldom updated and neglected.

Brad 05-02-2004 10:11 PM

How about you give 2k1 to someone who has an interest in revival AND has the ability to formulate a strong team. Someone who is popular, yet can get something done. This probably seems like I am trying to get control over the project, but I'm not. I think maybe Minoc, Shadowless, hell..even scotty <3.

I agree, Lance doesn't seem interested in it since he is an Admin on Era now. That's a big dedication, and I think that more than one big dedication just isn't working.

Technically it's not an OBLIGATION. They could just dump 2k1 if they wanted to.

But my knife here says otherwise, if you know what I mean. *shifty eyes*

And yea, lance, either work on the server or give it up. You can't have it both ways, sorry to say.

I meant more like "If you stay as manager" type thing.

GryffonDurime 05-03-2004 01:38 AM

Oi, I wish I could see 2k1 active again...But at this rate....

Scott 05-03-2004 01:43 AM

Coup' le 2k1.

SSJ2_Gogeta 05-03-2004 01:54 AM

2k1 was great back in the day, but without the community it just isn't the same :(

It hasn't changed because of that, doofus. Pay attention before you make silly allegations. :)

Was a simple joke, I have no intention of helping overpowering or anything like that. I'm still confused of the current situation, but I do think Lance is a good manager. Like everyone, he has a few faults, but good none the less.

Thak2 05-03-2004 02:45 AM

Ok, maybe the current plans and ideas for 2k1 - like the 4 new kingdoms complete with new tiles, levels etc. should be modified in favour of actually finishing 2k1 sometime.

Since the new Dustarish castle dwelling kingdom has not even been started yet (I think) - they could just use the old Dustari levels.

The forest dwelling subkingdom could use that awesome villa town Birdbird made. Yeah, I know it's in a bad spot in relation to other kingdoms. But those few nice tiles could be moved elsewhere on the map. That would have 3 kingdoms completed, so everyone would be encouraged to finish Bellasera up.

Brad 05-03-2004 02:48 AM

95% of the current staff on 2k1 werent even around for 2k1's most prime time

Maybe I wasn't a 2k1 active player during that time, but I still was there in the background. Meh, I'm getting sick of hearing that. I really wish I could have only used one Alias, would have worked out in the long run. :frown:

Chaos0838 05-03-2004 02:59 AM

I was around on Graal 2001 since like half a year after it was released. It was, and could be again, a great server. If a staff team is being assembled, I'd undoubtly help.

Most of those people, atleast the ones who could make levels or do other things to help, have stopped playing Graal.

Alot, well no..but many productive members would return for a possible 2k1 revival. I don't think people who arrived at the time of zalactic nonsense should be nostalgic about times they never had.

Ok, then why has it changed?

And I remember Jinn's isle. I > the staff of 2k1.

GryffonDurime 05-03-2004 12:13 PM

God...why does everyone care so much about who was around before Zalatics, or around to see a small island with nothing good whatsoever but a stool...Honestly, if someone can help in bringing back 2k1 to glory, then why should it matter if they were there to see the first glory...

"If you truly fixed everything and made it nice and playable, then people would WANT to play it. You can't blame people for not wanting to waste their time on a server that is seldom updated and neglected."

Wow, I've met horse shoes smarter than you. My point is they whine for it NOW but we can't make it "nice and playable" in a jiffy. Apparently the words "We can't just swing a magical wand and make everything all better again" had no significance ;)

Also, how do you expect Lance to be motivated? Unixmad stripped him of many rights, he is even no longer the forum moderator for 2k1 here.
