How did he get scammed, let me guess, he lent them to kilik?
|
No, Scamming should NOT be illegal... There is a reason for Trade Tables... And if you get scammed when you ask a friend to hold your items while you reset... Tough luck, you're reseting... It's either take a chance with your friend, or have your items deleted when you reset.

I don't see why there is a problem. If you use the Trading Tables or System there would be no scamming at all unless the tables screwed up and someone took your things. In which case you pm an Administrator or Stefan and they will check the logs and you will get your things back eventually.
But honestly, there would be no scamming if everyone used the tables. |
no, you see for most peaple, if they use trade table and trade for example an EA for 500p cause the guy said it was worth it and later find out it wasent, for them thats bein scammed, but infact its their own fault for beleaving the guy

and in real life all those wolves that r in dungeon would have died from hunger already, or resorted to cannibalisme |
That doesn't really help your case of promoting scamming cause it's realistic
As for somebody telling somebody a EA is worth 500 plat, that's not scamming if they both agree to an action and carry it out, it's perfectly legal even if it is an utter rip off |
yes but for most peaple:
"scamming=getting ripped off=getting items stolen when they drop them" even if its not scamming most of those that complain about it think of it this way |
If you agree to sell something to a lower price than what it is worth and you were cheated to do so, it is not a scam... (my point of veiw)
|
yes i agree, thats what ive been saying but for those who were scammed any event when they found out they didnt get a good deal is a scam, even if they were the ones setting the prices
|
Scamming should be illegal, but it isnt. I've been scammed more then anybody, and the value of all the items could of made 5 people VERY happy.. You cant do anything about it.. just don't trust people, unless you can get EVERYTHING they have at any moment (barrow).
That, or get their acct password... -shrugs- |
I almost always get some kind of compensation to make sure they don't just run off with an item I'm letting them barrow
unless I have some kind of power over them to punish them if they do run off |
Ye that could work, but i have something that works even better, its a little word, as i demonstrate in this conversations:
Some guy: hey can i borrow that just for 5 min? You: no Some Guy: ah come on, i thought we were friends! You: no trust me the magic "no" works great! |
i wont agrue the case of getting scammed by ignorance (not knowing the price of your item) but i do know one thing, getting scammed somehow where you don't get anything, SHOULD be illegal, doesn't happen often, but it should be anyway.
Note: no this never happend to me |
the only thing should be illegal is to have your item stolen cause of a bug, like for example that tade table bug when your items stays on the table after you lcose the trade =/ i have no idea how that happens but atleast i didnt have that yet XD
|
I don't think it should be outlawed, as has been said before, this is a role playing game, and people are free to be thieves.
However, maybe someone should come up with some sort of "Kingdoms' Travel guide" or something. Something to give new players a heads up on what kind of scams to avoid and such. Scamming will only continue as long as people know that others will fall for it. |
The thing about Role Playing Games
Not only are they for Role Playing, they are also Games And as a result have rules And unless you can make up some kind of in game punishment for scamming, then scamming doesn't apply to role playing and any kind of in game punishment I can think of can be brutally abused, so I would rather not add one |
ITS A FREAKEN GAME.... jesus. You don't go and find and stab somebody for taking your virtual items... get over it, start new, or leave. 3 choices. For now, ****.

leave as in kill your self? :o

first of all vote for me , *whines , *please . That over with
scamming: I dont think it should be ruled legal or illegal, part of the game , like real life. oh and your friends? They live clear across the country , not like irl friends who you can beat up or key their car or some such business if they steal from you. You shouldnt even trust me , I could be playing along , being your friend for a year for what you could do for me , and when you loan me those gloves and mith and fhom when you go on vacation? thanks sucker , nice knowing you |

What kind of a bloody ***** wastes a whole year of his life pretending to make a friend just to "steal" some pixels from him, anyway? XD

I think scamming may be too hard to prove to totally outlaw, and if you make it so you can be banned for scamming, then the staff have to investigate every claim (you can't play favorites with which victims you help) to see if there is enough proof to ban or not.
That would chew up countless hours of the staffs' time. Worst part of the scam outlaw business, I could give someone an event weapon, then later claim I only loaned it to him to be blessed. You can't log PMs. Only trades. I do think scamming is rampant and ruining the game. People get scammed - by former friends - who sell stuff for hundreds of USD. There is no safe trade for EAing or blessing. Maybe, we could have an in game inter kingdom trading guild, where trademasters of each kingdom (maybe a closed Guild of Trademasters so the kingdom members in that don't need to have a specialized rank, and make it so only the leaders of each kingdom can assign people that that guild). A trademaster would be players that spend lots of time in bomb trade or are on a lot, and bascially take record of a trade and the terms, even if loaning. If we can watch who is in the trademaster's guild closely, and disbar people if they are questionable, then we may be able to have the staff authorize that a scam in a 'moderated trade' would be penalizable. If the idea is done badly, it would be horrilble, but a trade semi-staff, of sorts, that is kingdom based, could be good. It would only work if new trademasters had to be approved by the other kingdoms, with some veto capacity, so that one kingdom doesn't introduce bad people into the group. |
Scamming is evil, sure, and i think it should be punished.
|
if ur dumb enough to get scammed it your own damn fault
|
Scamming should only be enforced on the trade tables.
If you are dumb enough to drop trade. ...there should be scamming tips on the entrance of graal kingdoms. 1. 2. 3. etc... Scamming should not be punishable. Trust NOONE. |
As I always suggested, add a new starting task: you get scammed by a NPC for a valuable item you "find" a few tasks earlier, then anotherone instructs you about ways to avoid that in the future.
|
LMAO, that would be hilarious
You give that one girl a healing potion "Thanks for saving my life. Here is a Mithril Chainmetal of Berwean +10" The next task: "Hi, I'll give you the money required to rent a ship in order to reach main island if you give me your Mithril armor. Just drop it and I'll drop the money" *newb drops Mith* *NPC steals Mith and runs off* and the moral of the story.... make sure to change the kitty litter |
if we do that then the newbies will start 15 min of mass messages about how a "player" stole his mith and didnt give him any money
|

their new found skills "Yeah, I'll buy that mith, but you drop first." |
To add even more kick to the punch
let's name the NPC Stefan Knorr >=P |

I used to do that training thingy sometimes just for kicks, cos i was so bored. It was cool  |
I used to do it all the time cause I thought that's what Graal was and I got rapidly bored of it
then the next day, my friend told me I was an idiot and was clicking the wrong link So I actually went online >=P |
