I think you people vote for people because of their name, let's try something different..

Actually not a bad idea. But I dont see how a few judges can do this, shouldn't the public vote?

Milkdude99 02-29-2004 08:50 PM

MyKel on the Global Staff thing you might want to do a poll on each catagory of Global Staff and list all the members for people to vote on (like GST, PWA, GFX and so on) Unless of course there is only one in that catagory they can just lumped into the final poll which will list the winners of each catagory for people to vote on one winner from all. This might be a bit more fairer that what happened last year , it really left a good many good people out of it.

Yeah, sorry my bad :)

cloudstrifevii 02-29-2004 10:57 PM

I know you don't want suggestions but there should be a best RP'er catergory, and Friendliest Staff, etc.

Polo 02-29-2004 11:22 PM

You should have a category for best Classic GP  :megaeek:  ;)

Myomoto 02-29-2004 11:25 PM

Good luck, but post some screenies on forums the next day :O

Mykel 03-01-2004 04:47 AM

Ok, we didn't mention all of the catogories, there may be more.

And if we had a public vote it would take all of the surprise away.

But I will allow anyone to e-mail me their votes, once we have everything organized. So it will be a public vote, just not public. XD

WanDaMan 03-01-2004 03:20 PM

I've thought about it, best LAT who posts on here (who is active) would be Haunter. My opinion so...

LordZen 03-02-2004 01:39 AM

Thats a neat idea to get it organized in-game like that :), but also the Academy Awards (whatever its called) is still fresh in my mind from last night lol.

What server would it be on? Or did I overlook that..

Brad 03-02-2004 01:51 AM

brad for biggest annoyance

my server, Pixel Life, you can aim at JustShutUp701

Marcu5 03-02-2004 02:50 AM

List

Can you give us a short list of categories for us to see? There are so many different things you could do for Graal, it would be nice to see what you guys have decided upon.

--Chris-- 03-02-2004 03:00 AM

Personally I believe the voting should be done by a private group of people. Players should not e-mail their vote because then it would just be a matter of quantity with many flaws (example: people voting for their friends only because they are their friends.)

zell12 03-02-2004 04:50 AM

Levels should be judged, not the players that make them by the way. I hate when people judge people by their popularity.

Mykel 03-02-2004 04:55 AM

Bah. I'm not sure if it will be private or public. *ponders*

Tweekeroth_Rebirth 03-02-2004 05:09 AM

make it private, because we all know if it is public they will only vote for their friends and not the best

True.
(No that's not why I voted for Haunter)

thrashsoul 03-02-2004 02:23 PM

I think were going to pick 10 honest people, who are healthy in the community, but wont be a nominee. Then they will vote on the categories. Im thinking
Graalian Of the Year
Developer of the Year
Gani Artist of the Year
Artist of the Year
Scripter of the Year (maybe, but scripting is conquered by alot of people, some people are as good as others)
Newbie of the Year
Level Maker of the Year
Manager of the Year
Server of the Year
Under Construction Server of the Year

WanDaMan 03-02-2004 02:51 PM

Newbie of the year? :O

Mykel 03-02-2004 03:52 PM

Yea, prolly no newbie of the year. XD

But the ones he mentioned will be the 'big' ones. We will have many other little small ones, as does any awards show.

It shouldnt just be the BEST at either of these, maybe the person whos DEVELOPED/PROGRESSED the most that deserves the awards. Also people who play graal I think, can't vote Kai for scripter for example.

The problem is that nobody can accurately judge the degree of progression for anybody other than their close friends.

What, did I die or something? I still have a gold account, I still help people with their GScript problems and I even still log onto servers occasionally. I didn't stop being the best scripter just because I decided not to post much anymore.

Ideally, scripting shouldn't be judged by non-scripters anyway. It's like asking an average person to judge a thesis on quantum mechanics; they just don't possess the knowledge necessary to make a fair assessment.

Yeah but your 'gone' so it's quite un-fair voting for some one whom is gone..

Never knew that.

Mykel 03-02-2004 07:56 PM

Yea, it is Developer of the Year, etc. etc.
Not just best Developer.

I post occasionally, I play occasionally. What, is there some kind of bare minimum before I can be considered a Graalian?

Stop being childish. You offered an argument, I refuted it. It's hardly personal.

Mykel 03-03-2004 04:21 PM

I think Kai is definitly eligable. (sp?)
He will help anyone who needs it, just ask.

davidpsy 03-03-2004 05:24 PM

Am I eligable for graphics as well?

Uh...? I haven't made any threads since my resignation, and resigning is not the same as disappearing.

davidpsy 03-03-2004 06:33 PM

Ok well I would like to be in the poll then please ^_^.
