I like this idea, but I think it should be about GK, and not 2001. That would be cool, but I do not think it will happen :(

I remember someone reading about how Graal Kingdoms would be a waste or hard to do a story on since there isn't much of a storyline.

While it is true that there isn't much of a storyline, it isn't true about it being difficult to create a unique story for GK.

I know a few people who do stories about Everquest. While there is a pretty decent storyline there, it is another MMO that's basicly hack and slash much as GK is. Players have created their own personal storylines and characters that they draw webcomics for.

There should be nothing to stop anyone from creating something unique like this. Web comics are a demanding activity however. Planning the storyline and the dialogue, then drawing the panels, scanning them in, coloring them. It's a lot of work, and to do it on a regular schedule because readers become cranky when there's no new content.

An anime based on the game is a little too ambitious if you ask me. A comic would be a bit more earthly, and just a written story would be more on target than anything. Good luck.

By creating an anime out of a video game?... Sorry bud, this idea is like the village bicycle, everyone gets a ride. Video games and anime are intertwined indefinatly.

Graal has it's own elements and doesn't need to be turned into an Anime. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon and always creating new stuff, why don't we FINISH Graal Kingdoms first.

Anime/Manga, it's just short description of a style used by the Japanese when interpreting or describing things visually on paper or film. They have techniques that are being emulated by American, Indian, European, every type of director is taking some inspiration by what the Japanese are doing.

If you think of DBZ when you think of anime, you are severely limiting yourself. The broad range of styles and abilities for storytelling are just as unique as the range here within the US or over in EU.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with creating a comic based on a person's character in GK. All I can say is, if someone were to do it faithfully and diligently, they need to make the decision on their own and not base it on the opinions of others. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy it, and maybe even grow a little from the experience.

This for sure was not the first time this idea has come up...

I have been planning all along to have a semi-anime like theme on my server Gileada where there is Chat boxs on the bottom of the screen when you talk to people and it shows a Manga/Anime head of the person that is talking next to their text...

There are a huge supply of anime artists there that draw super well...

My aim buddy list has about 50 people on it form Gaia alone and about 95% draw some of the best manga I have ever seen that isn't professionally done.

Great idea. Graal is sucking these days and needs something new. I don't think Graal3D can save it, unless it has big towns, flying demons, and little orcs.
