The alchemy bug was lame...People went from about level 10 to level 21 X.x

haunter 02-10-2004 11:50 PM

So far, this is what I think will help...
  • Remove maps
  • Add more areas, such as dungeons, islands, etc
  • Have (semi) random monster spawn points
  • Fix Random Alchemy and re-implement it
  • All items should be obtainable in some way or another all the time (no limited time offers)

New islands too. :(

haunter 02-11-2004 12:02 AM

That's what I meant by new areas. ;)

Satrek2000 02-11-2004 01:17 AM

There should be changes, but I'd rather go for the subtle, "small" ones first, or fixes for the existing large ones - not removing them to replace them with new large ones.

As far as Sarid is concerned, the only thing she ever alchemized in a cauldron were balms of first aid and philosophical salt. Also, she never had a sack of stacked brutals, or obtained maps or exp by abusing any bug. Trust me on that (if you're trusting me at all, that is), I was sitting next to her ;)

zell12 02-11-2004 01:23 AM

The people that obtained exp from the Cauldron bug (Not actually a bug, it is supposed to happen in CF) were reset, aside from Zen. I forget why.

Ghost for Game Master of GK = GK's awesomeness revived.

Stacked brutal are the ones that come from Administration that are supposed to be used for events but some how have gotten out to some priviledged players by someone with rights. Normaly the maps lay in inventory 1 map per space these are stacked in one pile, like if you have 10 brutals it will say 10 under brutal map icon.

I don't really think that most of these should be top priority, except the final one (maybe). I agree with satrek; little things should be concentrated on sometimes, and a lot more effort put towards Roleplaying which is what the kingdom's meant to be, rather than having all the effort put into ways of levelling up and becoming more powerful with "pwning" items.

GoZelda 02-11-2004 08:37 PM

It's those little things that the Graal staff lacks to put on items. If the inferno had some RPG-window story, then showing it off in the trade tables would have another use, which has a more RP-ish tension.

Only if you really fix it - raise the requirement for the "good" stuff (i.e. what used to be random) to the stars, and add basic versions - or make those craftable to close the gap.

Make limited time offers on recolors or such, not on unique stats and capabilities.

zell12 02-11-2004 10:00 PM

Or, they can make the game more like CF so they wouldn't have these problems. :(

Maybe make items inscribable so you can give whatever weapon you use a RP story? The story could also be cleared when the weapon is cleaned......just a thought :o

Or, a new server could be made on graal!

It would be completely new and revolutionary, and nothing like Graal 2001 or the classic servers!

It would be called Graal 2004, and later renamed to Graal Kingdoms, and it would have a fully functional and balanced player versus player magic fighting system as well as the standard close range combat, and unique classes with specific skills and abilities that the other classes cannot do! But most of all it would have these five kingdoms which would be the main aim of the whole server!
The kingdoms could be called Dustari, Crescent Pirates, Forest, Zormite and Samurai! And the people of graal could flock to it and Roleplay lots and lots, because everyone else there does, and roleplay is supported way more than levelling and fighting!

It would be awesome to have a new server, i'm getting bored with classic servers and Graal 2001 =x

Well, that kind of makes Role Playing mandatory.

How exactly would you monitor something like that though?

Deek2 02-16-2004 07:04 AM

Here's what I think:

Monsters: There are too few of variations of monsters on GK. Really, the vast majority of them that you're going to run onto in the main land is just crappy differences in bomies. Then you have T-Rex's, and the other dinosaurs in the maps. I don't know how warped Graal really is, but as far as I know, dinosaurs did not exist at the same time period as humans. It could be fantasy, and it probably is, but that doesn't really sound fantasy-like to me. I say alot more on the quests and monsters.

Of course, you could just forget about using CF's crappy mudlib and think of something on your own for once. I think with enough consideration with the monsters, they could level out most problems with items. Not RPing, though. That's at a different level.

I think stefan should change the plotline of graal on the website.

We've come to a point where there can be an ending, and that is:

"The humans slowly gathered in strength, until one day just a handful of them could not be harmed by an army of a thousand bomies...and thus they used their leeto weapons of pwnage to rid the world of Bomies forever, and there was no more threat. Then a new threat arose, and this was the powerful people themselves. They killed everyone else, whoever they came across, and so wiped out their own race too due to their excessive eliteness. Come to graal and see this desolate wasteland of human corpses and skeletons, until you too join them after walking up to one of the few survivors to say hi!"
