If you're going to do that, Then invite all the supermods. Oh and lets handle it like grown ups and not like a school yard fight?

Thanks

MarkB 01-09-2004 12:58 AM

pointless thread.

konidias 01-09-2004 01:10 AM

Basically it's like this:

You paid for a game where you cannot express your opinion about the game or game forum without being told you're a bad person, or even worse, being banned.

- If you say something the owner doesn't want to hear. -> Banned.
- If you make a reasonable complaint about Graal. -> Banned.
- If you make Graal/the owner, look bad in any way shape or form. -> Banned.
- If you cause anyone else to believe your opinions. -> Banned + Hated by the owner + Added to their "blacklist" of anti-graalians

Just clearing this up for everyone. Now watch a moderator delete this because they don't know how to do their job.

Lyndzey 01-09-2004 01:12 AM

No one has been banned yet. As I said yesterday, the only person who has been banned by the two new mods was Admin-Playerworld72, who got access to the forums on accident.

Keyword "yet". It's kind of disappointing how the owner stifles the opinions of the very people he should be wanting them from. I want to buy Unixmad a bumper sticker that instead of saying "How's my Driving?" says, "How's my Managing?"

But this has gone on for years, so it's nothing new. People always wonder why staff quit out of the blue... Like me... Kaimetsu... Alkaren... etc. I'll tell you one thing, it's sure not because we've stopped liking Graal itself.

He has warned us 3 times. If you read his little sticky (it was stickied for a reason), it says that this is his 3rd warning. How many warnings does it take until he should be able to ban? Is it corrupt of him to ban a few people because they have ignored three of his warnings?

Darlene159 01-09-2004 01:28 AM

GAH!
Noone has been stifled, some people just need to learn how to post their opinions in a better way, other than saying "omg, you suck, you dont know how to do anything, you retard, omg!"
things like that....

As I have noticed since members have complained about the new supermods, it just goes from thread to thread to thread, and it has gotten to where someone cant say anything without another forum member saying something derogatory about the supermods or mods (and you wonder why unixmad is mad?), having a simple discussion where questions are asked, and answered is one thing, but going around the forums with extreme negativity towards newly hired people, or anyone for that matter, isnt acceptable.

Short story: If members were going to be banned for giving opinions, everyone would be banned by now.

Exactly, and I agree with him

I'm not saying it's corrupt. I'm just expressing that I think it's wrong. He makes announcements that sound like he's talking to little children, and makes warnings saying we can't have a negative opinion about anything on Graal. It's hard to know when you're in a "gray area" or when you're "crossing the line".

What kind of "rule" is that anyway? What are we being warned FOR exactly? Should we just carefully examine every post we make in fear that it might upset Unixmad or a moderator that will complain to Unixmad? I can see if the posts are just generally nothing but negative with no real criticism. But nearly all the posts lately have been reasonable and I don't think everyone deserves a slap on the wrist and told to be quiet.

Oh yeah? I posted very nicely asking for you super mods to stop closing threads that dont break rules. Yeah and I even said that I didn't intend for it to be anti mod and what not. But what do you do? You destoryed my thread...

See, this is a perfect example of the same complaints going from thread to thread to thread, I sent you a forum pm telling you why, so drop it

As I said in my last email out to you (yesterday), I need Stefan to add my new IP range.

Or it might have been out to marcorB. I get you two mixed up.

Ok so you tell me "We do not need another thread on what you guys feel the mods are doing wrong, knock it off." So its aganced the rules to state our option on what the mods are doing wrong?

Earth to Moonie... These complaints wouldn't exist if there wasn't a problem. Deleting the complaints and banning the people complaining is only fixing the problem for the staff. Not the customers.

No one has been banned. Moonie has not banned a single person and I don't think she plans on banning anyone.

I didn't say they were. I was only trying to explain what will end up happening. if people continue to complain, they will be banned. That's pretty much the entire point of Unixmad's new threat.. er thread.

It is pointless to have 2 threads.

There is such a thing as overkill.
Unixmad is simply tired of reading it all over the forums...over and over and over, it has gotten out of control

Ah, it may be pointless. But I dont think I see a rule aganced it... Yet..

Well, it's not just that.

I think your thread was made about 20 minutes after Angel closed the other thread. Therefore your thread was a remake of a closed thread, which is not allowed.

Ok, I'm sorry, but it's so annoying... It's "against", not "aganced".

Then the problems need to be fixed. Not ignored. Like I said... banning people and deleting the threads is not fixing the problem for the customers.

If it's making the staff uncomfortable, they need to fix it on both ends, not just their side.

If he is tired of it, why doesnt he just fix the problem? Also I see no written rules against overkill.

But you can't really expect him to know that. When a thread is closed quickly it usually doesn't bring much attention to itself.

Yes, I dont really think I was aware of another thread like that. I dont know though.

Also since everyone is complaining and unixmad wont fix the problem why dont we just get rid of the graal forums and turn it into a public announcment place.

The first thread started out nice enough, I highly doubt it was closed due to the original post. So if I have a thread about cars, and it turns into something utterly obscene, then gets closed I can't make another thread about cars?

Apparently not =/.

marcoR 01-09-2004 02:04 AM

I don't know if this argument/debate/whatever! is still going on but it needs to be more organized. I see three people fighting with each other in different topics, that's useless.

Now, to Lyndzey (or however you spell it) (It's MarcoR RAWR!)

I didn't get a email from you, or a PM, appearently neither did MarkB

To Moonie
You're getting better, I think =\ But you need to refurbish your "delete" button, it's wearing out. Refer to my discussion with Moon God about it.

To Unixmad

Jesus.. what should I say? What shouldn't I say?Well... We all disagree'd at first, but it's not so bad, and actually I'm seeing things in reverse now. If Moonie gets better at it I'll be happy (I think she's growing up again =o) And your response really just fuelled a already powerful fire, not cool. Yea that's right I'm using GRAMMAR! Anyways, that was a joke at the end, everthing else seems fine.

To Pickels

Maybe it's not so bad? Let's see. (don't get banned or I will march on Paris, and heads will sit on top of pikes (Yea I said Heads, as in plurel (GRAMMAR!)

To the rest of ya.

Calm down, let's talk this out with the mods. Don't use caps lock, close the curtains, and pretend you never knew anger excisted.

No! You cant have my anger! It was a gift... Or so says Zach de la Rocha. :O

Why must people ***** about every move made by Stefan or Unixmad? In my opinion...the new mods are doing a good job. Keep up the good work.
