Hell no. I wouldn't want to moderate a bunch of idiots that can't listen to a word that hits their thick skulls (and that isn't pertaining to everyone that visits these forums). Actually, that's exactly why I wouldn't want to: they don't listen.
Besides, I don't think anyone would want a moderator that yells at everything you say. :)

lol, the rules should apply to everyone, and if the rules are followed, who's gonna yell?

That's the problem. Not everyone is going to follow the rules, ya' know.

Well, then they deserve the punishment that follows, it isnt hard to follow simple rules

deman1171 11-22-2003 03:35 AM

Oh my, that's too bad.
The graal forums are bad enough, now the best moderator is resigning.

There are those who do know but in the best interest of these Forums and for sure arguements that certainly would ensue, it is best to leave the why fors and what nots not said at all. Just wish Kaimetsu the best at whatever he does and leave it at that, a good note and not a bad one.

Good LucK Kai ....;)

That's not the point. There wouldn't be any punishment if everyone acknowledged the rules and abided by them. I wouldn't want to waste my time bothering to attend to a person's clumsiness.

Nick1988 11-25-2003 04:36 AM

It's a shame that Kaimetsu is gone, he was an excellent supermod. I will also miss him.

That is true, and the world would be a much better place if people applied that same thing, but we know that isn't going to happen......

Aftershock was banned for a good reason. Plus he was also an in game administrator (with level 3 rights) when he deleted Kai's posts. If he does something like that on the forums, he could easily reset peoples accounts or something in the game. My view on Aftershock changed after what he did...
He proved that he was human, why everyone isn't banned is what I want to know.

Because not everyone creates huge disturbances and breaks the rules like Aftershock did.

Even if you're going to try to push the point that Kaimetsu is somehow "inhuman", you'd be forgetting about Stefan, Unix and Galen, aswell as Alkaren and all the other previous supermods. None of them have gone on a rampage of deletion. Are they all "inhuman" too?

Everyone will break the rules at some point at their life.

I never said they were inhuman.

Sure. But there's a difference between jaywalking and murder.

Well, if breaking the rules is what makes Aftershock human...

I'm sorry, did Aftershock murder someone? I believe I heard he deleted some posts...

So all the previously mentioned people have never broken the rules? On the forums, perhaps not, but in life, you can not live life without breaking any rules. If you do, then you certaintly are worthy of being called inhuman.

The comparison was made to show that just as in real life, there's different severities of rulebreaking on the forums. Double posting is not the same as pruning every post a person has made. Aftershock's crime was severe, so his punishment, too, was severe.

The chances are just as good that Kaimetsu has broken rules in real life too.

Learn about context, dude. Googi's point was rather valid and evident. Sure, everyone's going to break the rules some day (I did it once. My account was deleted and I was banned, for a small time period) , but that doesn't mean that we should preemptively ban them for it. Aftershock disobeyed the trust that was placed in him as a Supermod by Stefan and unix and broke the rules in more than one place. Add to that that he had Level 3 global rights in the game and you have a volatile situation. This is why he was banned and fired and if you insist on defending him you're just resorting to useless friend-supporting zealotry.

I like Aftershock a lot, when I still talked to him back when I played the game he and I were great pals, but he broke the rules and suffered the consequences, man.

I am not trying to have Aftershock reinstated, I am just disappointed that some people view him negatively because he commited a human act.

Of course these kinds actions should not go unnoticed, and punishment is a valid approach, but that does not mean you should turn your back on someone because they made a mistake. I am sensing hostility toward Aftershock in here, forgive me if I am misinterpreting.

Lance 11-25-2003 08:19 AM

Aftershock was a nice guy, but he screwed up.

Fare-thee well, little monkey. You led a great path, and I hope you keep up that direction in the future, and in the real world (when you decide to go there, of course ;) )

Oh hey, I wonder if he ever finished his 3d thing...

Yes.

Actually, you're incorrect. The issue is with your statement about everyone else being banned, not with your statement that he's human. Humanity doesn't excuse misbehavior.

There's no hostility, I just think that the way you're treating the situation is wrong. :)
