I'm sure thats Mystichastes idea of lots of lights.... before i got a new driver for my modem, entering a level made by haste ended up disconnecting me :grrr:

Regardless, I'm not that impressed. You've seen one classic-like server you've basically seen it all. Interpretation is pointless since its all the same tiles.

I'm not trying to discourage you so don't think that's what I want. On the contrary, I'd like to see PWs try harder on being more unique and original rather than feed off of the default stuff which is over-used; its much like beating a dead horse. The levels obviously have quality to them, but its otherwise boring. And there is such a thing as overkill ::points to abused lights::

Keep trying, though. Possibly find something that hasn't been seen in Graal before that you or your staff are capable of doing. There isn't much, probably, but if you look hard you might find it. Or find something someone else is doing (in Graal) and see if you can do better with your own interpretations. The later may not be so much original, but it does give you something to work from.

what about a classic PW that uses a different tileset, and GUI?

Despite the graphics on Era are simple, they are different than the norm. That is what I look for when I look into these new playerworld threads. If I don't see anything that strikes me as being new or unique then I'll point out what I think would make it better. Appearance is only part of the mix, but it does help when its as good as everything else. I know Doragon won't be some kind of graphical eye-candy. That's not what I want. I want something away from the normal, but not something that will distract from the game atmosphere I want to create.

Again, just because it may look pretty doesn't mean it plays the same. And likewise, just because it looks ugly doesn't mean it plays like that either. Strike a balance, if you can. Focus on what you are trying to achieve that you think will benefit players and give them an enjoyable experience.
