Ugh I'm tired of these depressing hateful argement threads. I'm going to watch a movie about some kids adventures in the east brb.
|
ty, your logic is the worst I've ever seen, he didn't steal the SoM inventory system, he was inspired by it and thought it would be good for his server, and by your logic, we should sue EVERY SINGLE GAME that was released after the first game that involved random encounters, BECAUSE THEY STOLE THE IDEA, RIGHT!?!?!
|
Jagen has a point, I mean think of how many Graalian NPCs use circle menus. Hats, for one.
|
Whoa guys.. calm down.
I think we should lay of Tyrial (sorry I spelled it wrong) and end the hate about picture stealing and everything. Unless you have factual proof that someone stole graphics, stole ideas or concepts from other games, playerworlds, Don't make threads like this. I'm sorry Tyrial, maybe you're expecting way too much attention than we are giving you. |
I think this thread is thilly.
|
They took it a little far. :(
|
Okay I told myself I wouldn't reply because it would be a waste of my time, but I will anyway, since I'm bored.
The inventory menu... okay, it's in a ring, lots of games use the ring deal. I don't see how I'm blatantly stealing such a primitive idea. It's like saying a tire company is copying the idea of the stone wheel that cavemen made. The grass. I learned to make that grass from a tutorial online, if you want, I will find it, because the grass I made looks more similar to the tutorial grass, than SoM2 or 3 or whatever grass. The tree trunk is a fluke. Mine also isn't exactly the same. Less roots in the ground, straighter, no leaves growing over the trunk, etc. The amulet. How many ways can you draw a 32x32 pixel amulet? It's just a gold locket with a chain... The carpet. I think it's the carpet? Hey buddy, I made pretty much all the carpets on GK, including that one. :p OMG I STOLE MY OWN WORK. The outdoor light. It's a glass tube, with a candle in it, a base, and a top. There isn't many other ways to make a wall light from the medieval period. I can't have freestanding candles on outside walls now can I? The crates. You have to be kidding. They look nothing alike. The bottles. Oh no, I made bottles that look like bottles! Actually if you want to get technical, I made those bottles before GK revamped their bottle graphics. So you'd have to say they stole the graphics from me. :p The small jar. I've never even seen the jar at the right. How can you possibly make a jar any different with 16 square pixels? It's not even the same shape, remarkably... I wouldn't be surprised if it was though, as it's a tiny jar. The post. Actually, I only did the outline of this post, which I used the graal post as a base from. Birdbird did the rest, from what I told him I wanted it to look like. :p You have a really pathetic way of getting revenge. I really shouldn't even be trying to defend myself. But I guess I can't make you look any stupider than you already are. |
Grass tutorial!

This thread should be closed. Theres a rule saying you can't sit there and go I hate "blah" and heres why, and that is exactly what is happening.

The second one: The grass doesn't even look remotely similar. Third: GOOD GOD IT'S A TREE. SOMEONE INFORM ME WHO HAS COPYRIGHTED A TREE. Fourth: It's a gold medalion. What's your point? They both have the actual medalion and the chain. That's the only way they're similar. Fifth: Repeating pattern. They don't even look similar. Sixth: It's a lantern. I still don't see your point. Seventh: The crates look nothing alike. The planks go an opposite direction. There's no diagonal plank on the top. Jesus. Are you blind? Eigth: Those are the four standard shapes for bottles. You can't tell me Linux Cyberjoueurs has a copyright on shapes. Ninth: Nothing alike. Tenth: Not even remotely alike. Dumb little message at the bottom: I can't believe you call this revenge. You made yourself look even more *****ic than you used to. |
......Does everyone hate Tyrial?
He just got mad at Koni for saying he copied graphics :\ And i love Oasis and Adiarde both :\ So why can't you all just get along. |

You never had the thought that koni might have played those game while he was a child, and as karsh said some where, might have got inspired to draw like it? The fun is, that all these games are 8-bit, which the Zelda game graal was made from also is

These threads are getting stupid. Frankly, I don't care if Tyrial stole from Konidias, or if Konidias stole from other games. The comparisons weren't really good enough to convince me that he's stealing (although the tree trunk roots look very similar in shape and color). About Tyrial: he could have stolen it from Konidias, or maybe he was inspired by it, or something. The sheer fact is, one of you guys are going to have to change their style. Oasis and Adiarde are too similar, just look at the screen shots. I think you guys should decide what your going to do about this before you keep on making more graphics that similar style.
|
They look the same, but it's not like he copied, possibly looked at there gfx and got inspiration :) Nice thread tho, he deserves it:p
|
I don't think any of you understood the point of this thread, it's not to make you hate oasis or konidias, it's to make you understand this: Konidias posts a screenshot compared our houses.. with 1 tile bricks, the only way to put 2 bricks in the same size on a 16x16 tile all i did was 16/2 and put lines then filled in... That's the only way to make a 16x16 tile, if you don't want the bricks small or big, that is the only way. Konidias blames me of stealing his borders, when infact I was the one to give him the ideas of using borders around his doors, now i tell the same to you "I steal my own ideas! omg!" You said it would look dumb and did it anyways. The problem is, when konidias accouses me of stealing from him, everyone is like "Yeah tyrial is a thief" "Tyrial stole this and that" But when i post the EXACTLY same thing, you guys say "Tyrial stupid" "Tyrial is a ****ing idiot" The question is: Why do you hate me when konidias without proof accouse me of stealing, and when i post without proof about konidias stealing, you hate me even more... Why? |
Because humans can't love every one, and in tiny communities like this, some of the members get hated by all the other members. So, your bron to be hated, sorry :|

There's a tendency among internet users. If somebody disagrees with a person in a conflict, it's automatically attributed to some sycophantical predisposition towards the opponent. It can happen to any of us if we lose our cool, but it's something that should always be avoided.
In this case, Tyrial thinks that people are agreeing with Konidias because they like him or want him to like them, but that piece of reasoning only works if both combatants have equal arguments. In actuality, Konidias' argument is a great deal stronger, on two separate fronts: 1) Konidias' evidence is more compelling. Tyrials comparisons are horribly weak; none of those graphics look similar at all. 2) Konidias has a reputation as a creative person, one who is perfectly capable of making his own graphics and would never resort to theft. I don't know if Tyrial stole graphics. I don't know if Konidias stole graphics. But for various reasons - including those listed above - I'm more inclined to believe that Tyrial did than Konidias. Does that make me a sycophant? Not at all. I don't doubt that some people are agreeing with him for poor reasons, but that's no reason to accuse all of his supporters. So, Tyrial's reasoning is flawed. In my opinion it was a bad idea to make this thread, and it's been closed to stop the fighting. That means that the topic ends here. You've all said your pieces, you've all made your points, let's move on. Any harrassment in other threads will be harshly received. At Tyrial's request, I announce that all those wishing to discuss this matter can contact him by AIM (screenname: 'tyrialadiarde'). |
