my thoughts:
I dont like players coming on saying "come to this server its got this and that blah blah"
When they do i politely pm them and say excuse me but i dont appreciate you doing that , please dont do it again.
If they continue i would jail them.
When a server crashes we often get rampant players log on
and then when their server is back off they go again.

I massed out on RC a message saying that I was sick of the
players begging for people to come to their server (I would of
even jailed players saying to stay on Babylon), and it was
getting really annoyed.

Just because you find it annoying, doesn't make it a rule. That was out of line to begin with.

But isn't he the GP Chief? Besides, something like this is up to the high staff on the server, and they have the right to make rules against server advertisement. Playercount is crucial these days because of the wide variety of servers we have.

The point is that as far as I knew servers were not supposed to enforce fundamentally silly rules.

How is this a "fundamentally silly" rule? You clearly were making statements that could put their playercount in jeporady, and did so multiple times despite a notice being posted (though its unclear as to whether the notice was posted before or after the incident). On top of that afterwards you handled yourself poorly and even went to the extreme of posting a thread here to bash T3CK when you were in the wrong. You may not like their rules, but that doesn't mean you don't have to follow them and not be punished like everyone else when you break them.

If their playercount is so easily converted, I daresay they'd move by themselves sooner or later. I didn't post a thread here to bash anyone in particular, Babylon has a history of misdeeds (hiring only girls for their Events Team and such). It is fundamentally silly because all it proves is that they need to jail people who are making known something that they don't like. It's pure ****sm.

Bringing us to the point that there was no need to call them back?

Precisely.
Not to mention this thread broke Graal Forum Rules about bashing servers and Managers.
They did nothing illegal as far as i can tell.

And, as a matter of fact, neither did I.

If they want to disallow advertising of other servers that's their perrogative, but you should have been warned i think. It's a stupid reason to jail but it's a stupid activity anyway.

OMG, Protaganist/VT, you my friend, are a HYPOCRITE! You got mad at ME today when I massed ONE THING about that I was going to buy a GServer and see if anyone wanted access so they could build their own levels or NPCs, and you threatened me and said that was advertising and you were worried about losing one or two players! OMG, I promise... stupid ppl piss me off!

I hardly threatened you, I politely asked you to not advertise your server. And I am far from a hypocrite, hypocritic would have been doing it without knowing it was legal. Losing playercount is losing playercount, be it one player or a hundred players. Let's just say that the situation was too ironic to pass up.

Theres no MOD ;)
Although I too think its worth closing, SUPER-MOD could as this is pointless...

Thallen 07-10-2003 07:25 PM

This may be somewhat off topic, but is it just me, or are there way more arguements on the Classic servers than Gold (Kingdoms and Bomy Moon, even though Bomy Moon is now 2001 on Classic)? I think it's because on the Classic servers, you do the quests, get the swords and shields, and then get bored, or PK/spar. On Bomy Moon and Kingdoms (especially) you always have something to do, too busy to argue. Like on Kingdoms, you can never stop improving you can always create a better character by levelling, trading, etc...Just a fun fact I realized somtimes this week.

Prerogatiev, Bobby Brown, hehehe.

To be on topic, i agree with Thallen about all the classic servers. Graal really needs 1 or 2 classic servers like old g2k1, and then it can start being cool again.

HoudiniMan 07-10-2003 11:09 PM

Yeah i like bobby brown's song :P

The PW team used to moderate these forums... Maybe we should ask kai about re-instating that now that Nem isn't here.. Not that he ever did any moderating anyway.
