It has to be alot less then 50 us dollers becouse they are paying that per server and i would think a server could hold alot more then one player world .
it could be anything from 10 us dollers to 20 i would say but your playerworld can earn money back.

$50 per server? Um, servers are generally many times more expensive than $50. The fee you'll pay will mostly cover maintainence costs and that can still be pretty hefty as I understand it. I doubt they are going to gear prices to the 'average interest' PW developer. Rather, it will be geared towards those with sincere interest meaning that if you really want to make a PW that bad, you'll pay a high fee.

You keep forgetting that the common and oft central reason for most playerworlds is power and control. That is usually all that is wanted. They won't pay money for power and control regardless of how bad they want it (or think they want it). Me? I'll pay most any price up to a point simply because I'm not interested in power. Control, yes, but that is mainly over content and being able to create the world I want that I can share with everyone else. I'll definitely pay to do that considering how easy it is to do so :) That and I'll more than likely have access to lots of nice and fancy features that will make my task easier.

naaa , it is really 50 or 60 dollers they are paying , and yes i know thats very cheap but thats what tyhm told me before.

I don’t play graal enough to say I want to have a server for control or power, it’s more or an ego thing .

Which is derived from power and control. You don't get ego from nothing. Only if you feel you have some sort of prowess over others. Which is what many PWs are all about in the long run. Its all about who has the most power and control and who can show off the best.

Um, if you would actually take the time to look around here you might find it, hmm? I gave the link to my "website" the rest is up to you. How hard is it to click on a single link? Please answer me that.

Here, I'll give you a hint: click the link for the Playerworlds forum.

I guess I gain too much amusement dealing with you. You make things so much more difficult than they need to be, honestly.

Observe more than you rant and you might learn a few things. Spend some time actually nosing around this forum and going places you never went to before. Try it.

Why should I? You're too lazy to look around :p I'm more than willing to cooperate with people so long as they do thier part. But if you're not even going to try then why should I put any effort in, hmm? You'll just come back again crying and the cycle will start all over.

There are those little options at the bottom of the thread lists that let you tell the forum what threads to show in relation to date. The forums automattically truncate those old pages from the display so that it doesn't look so cluttered :) They're not gone, just hiding.

I wouldn't say that I dislike you. More that I find you to be a strange person who may need to seek help :p My forum has been there since that particular sub-fora was created as such. I cannot grasp how anyone could possibly miss it. But several people continue to surprise me with such ineptitude :(

Spark, keep in mind that only a small % of those interested will end up posting here. I'm sure there are plenty of people with extra cash willing to pay for a private server, and probably plenty of new projects will start.

But, put me down, because I might pay to put up Kantarian Empire, if it's not too expensive.

Prices have been released already.

$99 for 12 months I think.

People have jobs. However, most people also have the neccesities of food, clothing, housing, and maybe even schooling.
It isn't a lot of money in actuality, but I don't like people who say stuff like "OMG I COULD PAY THAT WITH ONE PAYCHECK LOLOL" when those people don't realize that or simply live with their parents.

Oh, thanks..umm why the hell was that closed >=(...oh well.

I think there should be like...9 servers showing on the list. 7 is too few, 9 would be perfect. But one question, for the servers that are "invisible" everyone can type in the name to play them right? And there will be a listing of them somewhere right?

Also, like this, it seems VERY hard for new servers to get out of the invisible section...simply because no one will see them, and they wont be played, the ones with the most staff will move up
-_-.

superb 06-20-2003 05:24 PM

It stated somewhere in the thread, the private servers will only be playable by gold and VIP members. Unix also said somewhere in there, that the PWA will move worlds in and out based on quality of the world.

Okay, good about the PWA moving stuff. I just saw that a little while ago actually. That's good :D. ANd umm...wtf classic can't play private? That really sucks, I mean, can I at the very least have access for my staff who have classic accounts? What am I supposed to do? That's a little ridiculous...:(

Good luck getting answers, i asked a lot of questions too on the other thread and not one was answered.

Only a handful of my staff have Gold/VIP, i dont even have VIP.

Bah want to know how much the best package costs =( I want 2 years of that! Thern again, can I afford it?

prozac424242 06-24-2003 02:33 AM

How to get the players to pay for your playerworld:

1. have a world the people want to play

2. have a checking account, and an email account, and a website (even a free website from angelfire or tripod)

3. go to www.paypayl.com

4. hook paypal up to your checking account (takes a few days to poecess but its free)

5. make a donation page with paypal's utilities (free)

6. put the donation code on your web site somewhere

7. tell pepople, ie. in the server message, or in a timeout
every few minutes in a system npc, to please visit your donation
page and send whatever amount of money they want to help
support your server. (openurl is nice here)

when you get money in paypal, you can send it to your checking
account for free.

but remember that people are not likely to give money to a crappy server, mean or corrupt admins, or to supoprt hackerville.
so make an environment that people can have a sense of virtual ownership and community in.

prozac424242 06-24-2003 03:02 PM

And Realms (see my sig) is a playerworld that i will be making,
totally differnt story and way of playing than Sanstrata was.
