VERY well put.

Why would the money be refuned if scaming is legal? Stefan you and Unixmad are very confusing.

Tim26 04-21-2003 03:23 AM

Because he used a cheap item trick, this wasnt a regular scam

boukon_malisous 04-24-2003 07:07 AM

Apparantly you should only trust people with a good reputation and check out the item you are buying... Personally, I only buy things from people I know.

Kaiser2 04-24-2003 07:19 AM

Sometimes, you'll have to trust some other people too

mhermher 04-24-2003 04:59 PM

Stefan, that's wrong.. because even if he get his money back, elken gained 18k which he shouldn't.. so first off, remove 18000 plat from elken, then give them to this tim guy.. and guys, you are such *****s.. it's not his fault that loriel made a fake npc.. its the same like, you want to buy a diamond.. and then you safe trade, it shows the diamond image.. you don't go right click it don't you?`
You see that it's a diamond, why bother right click?
Then you trade.. and woops "The diamond tasted good"

Then you go crazy, which is the right thing to do..

Anyways, scamming is illegal, it's stated in the graal rules, and that's what you need to follow.. not what staff tells you from the server.. its the same like, sexual harrasment is illegal.. you go on babylon, and the staff says "In here its legal, so fu** your mother, i will rape you, i'm gonna fu** you.. and stuff"

Sry if thats offensive.

Satrek2000 04-24-2003 07:26 PM

It's always a good (bad) sign if people try to avoid safetrade - I remember someone trying to talk me into the "Dustarian Brotherhood Rule" when I offered 600 plats for piety - that is, drop half, get the item, drop the rest. I'd have paid the taxes, so why did he refuse? I know that doesn't belong here, but anyway, I agree that elken should be taken the money - as to reinstate the financial situation prior the incident.

Tim26 04-24-2003 09:55 PM

Stefan still hasnt restored my money ):

mhermher 04-30-2003 11:51 PM

I don't think he should give it back..
It's not fair, but it's not fair when you scam people either.. so you kinda deserve it.. but elken does NOT deserve the money.. how about, take it from elken.. and BURN IT to resete the economy as a start.

That's really hard when 95% of the population would take your corpse if left unatended for more then 5 seconds.

Kaiser2 05-01-2003 02:18 AM

You'll still have to trust them sometimes. I've never been scammed before because either a) I've been careful, or b) I trusted them and reaped the rewards. Then again, I was Trademaster of Zormite...and I truly did deserve that title...at least how I view it. Sorta a sixth sense for business, and also just knowledge of the people.

While this may be true, to the outsider this excuse is just as good as the "dog ate my homework" one.

...Excuses are like armpits... Everyone has 'em, and they all stink! :o

awfully demanding seeing as how no one has to listen to you. the only person who owes you anything is the person who scammed you and if they dont wanna pay you why should stefan give you stuff? just learn from your mistakes and move on
