Like Brad said, I don't think player interaction will be good, unless you have already planned something to improve it. (I really hope you do :))

And about Maloria: Maloria is a great server, probably one of the best ones, but the reason of why people don't play there is because they hated it in the beggining and are lazy enough to do not come back there and check out the new features.

We don't have many players at the current because we are basically closed for improving.
Anyway, we will be adding new systems very soon, such as market, new Nation Wars, a tileset chooser, ownable restaurants and rentable houses.
So please, check the server how it is NOWADAYS before you say anything.

Yes that was a big problem with providence and getting player base back up. As for checking out maloria the last time I was there I was stuck in some wierd black screen and couldnt get out. Before that I quit graal for about 6 months. So when I was refering to player base I had logged on checked out player count and saw staff. I didnt mean it as an insult to your server. From what people tell me its alot nicer than its initial release. But yes the player interaction was a major concern in a side scrolling game. So we have planned things to make it more community friendly.

All of you people saying its going to be horrid ****, Give some praise instead of saying its terrible. I support you 100%! we need new playerworlds that are different so we can get away from the big headed midgets..

I don't think a side scrolling server would work too well.
The player interaction would be awful for starts.
I see nothing wrong with parts of the server being side scrolling like a quest or two but not the full thing.
Graal is a multiplayer game and, I think, making a side scrolling server would remove the multiplayer aspect of the game, which I think is the most important thing needed on Graal to have any fun on it.

Umm if you could walk up and down it wouldnt be a side scrolling serve? You can go across roof tops and what not and jump. Also there are ladders in certain places that will let you climb up and down. :O But if you want to be able to just walk up and down as well this might not be the server for you.

Classic's Alien SpaceShip transportation thing is something similar to Val's. Except, you're flying as a spaceship on the map image to locations. I don't see how/why anyone would have any grounds for complaining.

I agree with Torankasu If it would make the game vertigo better then do it, don't stop just because val did it first/second whatever..

There's a reason side-scrolling playerworlds were never attempted in the Graal world.

That would stop after the first o. Please no need to try and be humorous by messing up the name. The staff are doing it for fun and having alot of fun doing it. What you expect is of no consiquence as I dont expect to see you on there playing it. :)

To the people referring to the Zelda II style with the overworld. I'll discuss it with my staff and see if they still would prefer the other methods and what not. :)

This is very original but lack good graphics...
I wouldnt stop on the project becasue others made fun of it, i'd just would make it better... heres a tip for you,
1. Dump ALL graphics and make better ones, if you want i can help you sometime.
2. Make the trees shorter.
3. make the way bigger so you can go down a bit, or else people will block eachother...
4. About that jump thing, souldnt make it be able to jump over other players, just go try in real life... go jump over your friend...

We have no intention of quitting just because alot of people dont like side scrolling or other folks happen to be ignorant.

We dont plan on making trees shorter. Graphics as previously stated where only 2 days old at the time the screen shots where taken. We also have no intention of scrapping all of them because some people dont like how they look. We do plan to and have been how ever upgrading and improving the graphics. We are going for a specific look a side scrolling older style look. If people dont like this there are a variety of other great servers to choose from.

As for helping with graphics. Will talk to the rest of the team and see how we're doing graphic wise. :)

What we really need is another scripter.

Well, i can script... but i don't want to... all scripters are lazy.

And that was just a tip, nothing you must do... but i can help a bit with gfx and scripts... but not whole scripts.

All I'm saying is, the graphics are mediocre, the idea isn't really new, and it doesn't look very organized. Maybe you should spend more time planning and developing, instead of making up silly phrases and slogans.

Ignorance at its prime. The graphics I have shown as stated multiple times where only a few days old. So the ones shown are not the highest quality. But even at our best I dont expect them to match your skill. If you show me some one who can make graphics as shown in that screen shot that would work for us then perhaps your expectations might be a little more realistic. We have everything planned out and developed but once again as previously stated we are specifically choosing not to release very much information about the server. I'm sorry if you consider 30 seconds of time it takes to right something down a waste of time.

So basically if you had read my first post and bothered to comprehend it. You would see that we are not going to be releasing any information. The current information just released was to let people know we exist and so no one else could state they where making a server like it first and accuse us of ripping the idea. The idea of making it is not new as I also previously stated having the idea over a year and a half ago and I'm sure others probably have had similar ideas. But the actual creation itself is new. Unless you know of some other server that has tried a side scrolling server that I'm unaware of?

As an overview please if you're going to talk about not planning things out and poor organization do it when you actually have facts showing this. You have nothing to support these remarks and false alogations as we've shown nothing but two screen shots that where only days old.

I dont see it as a horrible stage. I prefer to think of it as a preliminary stage. If you go to any game currently under development they usually give some sort of concept art or preliminary shots. Those are examples of how the server will look and before people jump on my back when I say of how it will look I'm referring to side scrolling and not graphic quality. What is the one people always demand when some one posts about an upcomming server? They always demand screen shots if you dont people whine and cry that there are no screen shots. With this way people will at least get an idea of how the server will be. :)

People whine and cry a lot. It would be better if you didn't show anyting untill the day the review comes out.

We're not showing anything else because its best to wait until release rather than telle very one every single detail about your server. Gives alot of mystery to it.
