Nah, I'm not really seeing the characters as being too realistic.
Rather develop our own style of models and textures.

I agree graal should keep its style of outragous graphics and just make them look good in 3d it is possible. What most of you are basing it on was probably bad gfx designed games.

I don't think a Graal 3D game should be based on the 2001 world, you could make a much better world for a 3D game.

If we did make it, it would be shell shaded.

I was talking to loriel erlier, he brought up the idea of a dev2 server to reconstruct 2k1, but I don't know.

I personaly want to start up a gold project so players can have fun on a keen server again. Not too sure if it will be 3D or 2D really.

I gave that up last June, I was pressued by a fellow staff member to the point where It drove me nuts. Ghost took it over, and I went on two weeks ago or so, it's nothing and not worth looking foward too from what I've seen.

Making graal3D based on the 2k1 world would be quite an endevor.

And what I've herd it will be a while before we can attempt to do so. So untill I'm certain we can do Graal3D, I'll work on

It wouldn't be a perfect replica of 2k1, rather based on its topography and current locations. It won't be just a 3D clone of it.

I don't have a problem with a 3D 2K1 existing, I have a problem with the 2D one not existing.

Personally I'd love to see it go 3D, I want to play Graal, but have no server to play.

I liked old 2K1, but not with no players on it.

Oh. Well in that case, in my opinion this will suck. I dont like to say it, but I would rather play a perfect clone rather than playing something that has the same things. We already have that. It's called Graal Kingdoms.

Sorrry Birdbird but I totally don't support you. Your lack of motivation will be your undoing and the result of weeks of work and concepts gone down the drain. I highly doubt the G3D editor will be released just for you to do your little pet project will almost certainly take months, if not 1+ year to do. By then I'm sure it will be long forgotten and just a distant memory like Graal 2230 is, nothing more than a vision inspired by an overzealous rogue developer.

Nice idea, when the time comes I think it will be a great idea. Expesially if you got a 3d train working, and did'nt use drasine. Then the train would have a meaning. Also the 3D doesn't have to be released, I know 1 person who have already made works on 3D with current graal versions, and he didn't work on 3d project, and doesn't now, and it wasn't leaked, it was just trial and error and he got it.

What would be great is if you used the actually normal player sprites and tiles (but like fixed/redone bigger). i'm sure alot of people would look forward to that.

If graal isnt supposed to be 2D then why is the new program being made by Unix called Graal3D? Obviously something fresh and new, nto to mention it runs off its own NON GRAAL server.. so its not 2D (Which Original is), its 3D.. thus proving that the old graal is 2D.

Then you should just hire other people. There are scripters that are still good out there that you probably just haven't heard of.
