it's cluttered

Cid_Night 07-09-2002 11:46 AM

wow its cool, and not really cluttered, i think its a nice amount of clutter...didnt go nuts with edge tiles, thats when it gets cluddered...like birdbird style...

Faheria_LAT3 07-09-2002 11:47 AM

mmmmkay: A problem I see in both of your levels is that your grass and ground tiling is so badly dispersed. It is not in clumps or anything, just sorta placed a couple tiles away from each other all through the level. Cid_Night, besides the house the level is very plain, as in nothing to it. Seeing as it's a spar house, why not add some more benches etc. around the level, on the roof isn't enough. A bit too bland for my liking.

Now toran, for the most part I believe that's a nice level. I'll list a bunch of pointers too improve as well as things that are good. The grass is a big thing to remember. The stream is sort of straight for my liking (as in enters at the top and continues the same straight line down to the bottom.) You can make it meander near the bottom, and make sure to add some shallow water ripples/stones. The cliffs are done to the best of your ability, I'm content with them. The path looks a tad funny because it gets so small from so large, try and make it more balanced. And lastly, the water body. I think the rippples you have are a bit much, take some of them away and distribute them elsewhere on the water. And don't forget, add some water rocks too. :)

Cid_Night 07-09-2002 11:50 AM

wow mmmkay...thats like the best level review ive ever seen in this damn forum...it actually gave me ideas to improve the level instead of just telling me if it was good or bad...hmmmm...

mmmmkay: Yah, and some things I said to toran may apply to your level as well. At least ideas for your next level if using anything related.

osrs 07-09-2002 11:58 AM

you should add more things...

mmmmkay: Don't rush. :P You forgot to add shallow water stones/ripples, and the grass is still dispersed badly (That takes a bit though.) And I'd take some water ripples away still...too many. And the water rocks, one here and there, not like 7 in a line. ;D

Torankusu 07-09-2002 12:23 PM

I forgot to attatch.

Cid_Night 07-09-2002 12:29 PM

gettin better every time toran...but id say....maybe a bit more detail here and there, practice with some fun stuff like edge tiles, thats what the point of my level is, im practicin with rivers and water edge tiles...as well as my building making skills...every level one makes you should learn something. Either a new tile, a new way that the program works...just something you should get better at...

edge tiles?

I'm not trying to put every tile in this level, I just wanted a nice place that you could sit by and enjoy the flowers and waterfalls.

Cid_Night 07-09-2002 12:33 PM

nah, edge tiles just kinda make it more interesting..its eye candy basically...

ok another version, the last i think...made the river more interesting and more twisty...made the door smaller to the spar..added some grass on grass edges, used mmmmkay's advice and made some seating and the grass crap more bunched up and not as spread...ummm...think thats it...

cloudstrifevii 07-10-2002 12:44 AM

Pretty nice although football ownz tennis. It would be kinda wierd for tennis with teams and stuff like football on 2001.

Cid_Night 07-10-2002 01:00 AM

here i fixed the tile errors you were talking about now im pretty sure there are none in the whole level...not absolutely positive about that but pretty srue, now gimme an honest rating that doesnt include how well you know me factor. (thanks mmmmkay and royce for teachin me how to fix the errors =D)

Mykel 07-13-2002 01:47 AM

x.x
still tile errors...
the green on the brown...and the green on the blue water...
not juss u...a lot of people do it...
a little better...and i dont think it is a bad level...u cud juss do better
add some trees...and a nice path...stuff like that...heh...
better tho...

Cid_Night 07-13-2002 02:19 AM

lol sorry, when i replied so meanly i was a little mad at someone IRL so i kinda like...freaked, my bad....most peoples suggestions have been to add a path, maybe i will....hmm im not seein these tile errors thoguh, ill look again...

Mykel 07-13-2002 06:55 PM

your building....
that is what i am talking bout...

Cid_Night 07-14-2002 01:44 AM

whats wrong with it? i dont think it has tile errors? lemme look again...

Mykel 07-14-2002 03:10 AM

see the green on the brown...and the green on the blue water?

Cid_Night 07-14-2002 03:15 AM

oh..those arent necessarily tile errors...just whoever was the genious who made the tile decided to make it not possible to use on any surface besides grass...theres no way to avoid that..:(

Mykel 07-14-2002 03:21 AM

yes i know....someone needs to make it so it is solid brown...its an eyesore....and tons of people do it because of no way around it. i try to avoid it...but it limits my possibilities...x.x

Cid_Night 07-14-2002 03:46 AM

ya or just make it so that one microscopic bit of green is black, so u can use it on any background...i dunno...
