Geez man, people who make stuff for Classic are big egotists. You don't see me calling them the "Kaimetsu Fireworks" or anything silly like that.

MrCharles 03-28-2002 09:19 AM

How come you can set your little rank thing under your name? Like instead of senior member, and junior member and stuff.

You need atleast 1000 posts.
And for an image, 500.

MrCharles 03-28-2002 09:24 AM

oh... That will take awhile.

darkriders_p2p 03-28-2002 09:42 AM

...

so its going to be another 6 hours for graal to go back up, I better stay on Graal3D and not loose my account spot :O

2k2 should be reset, it's fair that way

vsignasv 03-28-2002 10:36 AM

Reset 2k2 and I'll... I'll.... go for a swim

Tyhm 03-28-2002 10:41 AM

...um, Kai, Bruges didn't invent nor touch the Bruges Bird...he didn't even find out about it until after it was released. I named it that because the head resembles the blue Judgite helmet, or the Brugite helmet.

There is no Tyhm's x weapon, nor quest, despite insistance that the Ninja Heart quest is the Tyhm's Heart quest.

Well, it just seemed funny that the two things you mentioned there were both named after someone that could reasonably be assumed to be the creator. It makes Classic seem... Oh, I don't know. Unprofessional or something.

magicbud3344 03-28-2002 11:57 AM

sorry for the :spam: but is anyone good at making animated signitures? i will pay money on graal2001

jeff335 03-28-2002 12:32 PM

(1) People call it Tyhm's Heart because it has not much to do with Ninjas. And nobody wants to call it the Megaknight/Llamaman Heart. Plus, people can say "I'll go take out Tyhm's heart now" and have a good laugh :)

(2) Yes, the Bruges Bird should probably be renamed something different so as not to make a false reference to Bruges. He has his fame-to-noobs from a whole quest in Silmaria, which gives you the Cane of Brugara, an early version of which he made himself. Though the name is as good as any.

(3) Metris by Kaimetsu. Konquence by Konidias. Need I say more?

(4) As far as the SS Bhala goes, I'd be surprised if Bhala had any hand in its construction...though the SS honds WAS made by honds.

(5) In short, don't be an egotist and love thy neighbor as thyself; preserve some semblance of an RP environment and come up with decent names. That goes for everyone from SSJ Vegetamon 1337 all the way to Stefan.

Metris is hardly very similar to my name. Nobody would guess the reference if they didn't know its original working name. And Koni was going to call it Sequence, but Stefan suggested that he rename it to that.

jeff335 03-28-2002 09:55 PM

Hmm...seemed similar enough to set off my slow brain. I heard there was a new minigame at Zal Labs, went up there...and saw Metris. Thought: "Metris? Kaimetsu must have made it, and Stefan decided to name it after him. How sweet. Or maybe he named it after himself." lol

What WAS the original working name for Metris? Just plain good ol' trademarked Tetris, or something a tad more interesting?

Anyway, Metris is disguised enough a reference I guess, it's nowhere near as bad as "Cane of Brugara," which actually was made by Bruges (a narcissist?). In retrospect, the Bruges bird almost refers more to the character presented to newbs by Tyhm and the other classic dudes as Bruges rather than the Big B himself. However, the point still somewhat stands...if the Bruges Bird, why not the
*prepare for joke k?*
Zero 33 Zalactic Zapper that looks like it's made out of blue and green wall tiles? If it looked like the Moon Tower turned sideways it'd have as much to do with Zero 33 as the Bruges Bird does with Bruges. Or...

The Jeff Joltbomb, looks vaguely like head 788?

The Bomber 39 Megabomb?

The Tyhmclock to record the number of seconds each LAT spends on tag duty in a week?
*end joke k?*

Ya see, any of those would be just like the bruges bird, except the last one, which given the lack of uberleet scripters on classic, would probably be more like the Cane of Brugara or Loriel's RC, videlicet, Tyhm himself would probably end up making it :D

Anyway, enough rant for now.

(= This is me

and here I go =)

It was "Kaimetris," which is obviously a lot more iffy. I never planned to release it under that name, it was just something to call it while I thought of something better. In the end I just shortened it.

jeff335 03-29-2002 01:57 AM

Kaimetris lol. Metris, quite frankly, saves a syllable and sounds cool, enough like Metric to be SI propaganda. Bruges Bird sound sort of cool, beats Birdbird Bird. For some reason I have a striking suspicion Metris will be on 2k2, during the preview the icon for minigame items was the metris icon. :)

Too bad the Bruges Bird probably won't be on there, it's one of my favorite scripts besides loriel's control thingamabobber. It looks neat and is a cool boomerang to boot.

Too bad it's either laggy or unfair =/

But I dunno what Metris' fate is. Nobody's mentioned it to me.

Bhala 03-29-2002 05:18 AM

Yea i had nothing to do with the SS Bhala... it was honds ideas to make the ships named that not me... all i did was make some crapy levels for classic about a year ago....

It is. In the Zormite island, there was a big pile of bones where you could find the Metris game.
