Like I have been trying to say, this isn't anything compared to what Oasis will be when released, I'm just showing some of the basic stuff to get people's general interest, and to show that I'm doing stuff and Oasis is still being made. I don't plan on showing every detail of everything I make. I felt insulted because you speak as if what I have shown is all Oasis is going to be.

Player isn't impressed, instead player PMs owner saying his PW is boring...player continues on, and see a jelly. He kills it easily, and doesn't care of the gfx and such. He logs off the server, on to graal forums, and complains about the server, when if he played more it might have gotten interesting... But anywho, you get the point. I do things like that on other playerworlds, a little different but the same. Most PWs on right now follow the same basic graal thing, and its boring. PWs soon to come may show to much work on the forums, making them seem boring at start, making them loose players... Thats a bit exaturated, but I made it short and simple...point being: Put a limit on the ammount you show, and don't show to much. Another reason why you shouldn't show to much is others may have the same idea, and it may cause a fight/make players believe the other PW is a copy of the other...among other things. Main reason I want it to top is because I'm getting tired of thousands of the same threads =P. At least make a single "Oasis Update Thread". |

Though.... there is a few things I MUST suggest: 1) Make some desert tiles. And make them look like sand, not like dirt with yellow grass. 2) Make more plant life. I will include further examples, but this is the one thing graal needs that NO servers have. Rent a plant book at a library or something, because for some levels more plant life is needed. And no, rainbow coloured trees dont fall into this category. 3) Make more variety to the trees. Not just one tree, but a tree with no leaves, a tree with barely any leaves, and a tree that has LOTS AND LOTS OF leaves. 4) If you are going to make a forest/jungle, you will need trees with lots of leaves, with stuff hanging off them (vines maybe?) and lots of plant life(I cannot stress this enough, sorry. Also, if you want to make your server replayable, make lots of things to do and collect. Like lots of varietys of jobs, lots of weapons, accessorys, etc to customize your look. Maybe even a roleplaying system with MP and HP, magic spells you can buy, and a class system with swordsman who can buy swords, magicians who can buy magic, archers who can buy bows and arrows, thiefs who can buy stealing gear, etc. The screenshot shows a GOOD example of what I meant by "more plant life" |
Kondias can you post the template for the oasis character?? i got an idea how to make a character for myself for oasis... if thats ok with you?

Count the colors on any SNES squaresoft game, and tell me how many colors their tiles and such use. Count the colors of even Murasamune tiles, and tell me how many colors I used. Sorry, I am just sick of hearing the whole colors thing. He uses the same number of colors any square game uses, and the same number graal uses, and the same number Murasamune uses. His graphics are so simple it simply looks like he is using less. This isn't meant as a insult, just stop using the number of colors to make his graphics seem better. |

Simple comparison of Murasamune character to Oasis character.
When I checked my gif program and copied and pasted each character in individually, I got these results: Murasamune - uses 42 colors Oasis - uses 19 colors Then compare my character, to the Murasamune character, and figure out why they say that my graphics are nice because I use fewer colors. |
