I was 17 when I was making it.. and guess what? I'm a game developer! That is what I do. That isn't being a social outcast.. I had a girlfriend while I was making that anyway (REAL LIFE NOT PUTTING MY NAME TO "SO AND SO LOVES ME AND TOUCHED MY BOTTOM" IN AN ONLINE GAME) :rolleyes:

I was MAKING, I repeat MAKING a pokemon online game.. Do you know who made pokemon? Adult people. People as old as your father. They are not children, they are rich guys that play games and have fun at work. :D

I used to play pokemon, I got it before it was even hyped up (like a week after it came out) because I saw the japanese review of it in a game magazine.

I have pokemon red and blue somewhere.. and that's about it.. I'm not obsessed with pokemon, and I don't watch the crappy anime show. It's just like another game to me. It's pretty sad when others have to make fun of someone for liking a certain game. :rolleyes:

Koni, You aren't proving anything. Yes it's true pokemon was made by adults but most games are, But the fact is it was intended for children 12 years or less. And when you got it you said you were around 16. And the whole thing about you making the Pokemon online game, It doesn't matter that you were making a Program based on it.
The fact is you were making a ' FAN ' made game. This meaning you are or were a fan of Pokemon.

One more thing, Game devolpers revolve their lives around their work. This making any Social life weird because good game devolpers block this.

You've got to realize that when somebody is trying to look cool, or important, they'll grasp at anything they can to try to bring others down, even though all they succeed in is making themselves look like a bigger idiot.

Pokemon goes a lot deeper than the surface that you see as the cute, aimed at 12 yr olds, characters. It is a very novel idea for a game. The world is populated by monsters that all have their own strengths and weaknesses, and you need to use strategy to develop a winning plan. Elements and Types have weaknesses and resistances, different attacks are more effective than others.Believe me, at the card shop where I go to play Magic and yes Pokemon occasionally, Over half the people playing Pokemon are over the age of 16. So don't call someone immature just because they play it.

Of course, does Pokemon REALLY have anything to do with the alleged problems with Marle? No, You're just a *****.
And if you're trying to say he's childish, well, I've seen children act better than adults some times, so I think Konidias should take it as a compliment.

After some more reading of threads, I'd have to say Alkaren acted very appropriately.

Uhm, he does make sense. He should lose no respect for making a game based off of something you think was made for twelve and below. They might've made action figures and clothes and such and were liked by kids more, it doesn't mean they were a kid-only game.

It does take a lot to make a game. A lot that you don't have, and I doubt will ever have.

Making fun of someone for liking a game, is as bad as making fun of someone for liking a certen band. :rolleyes:

Okay, you will not find anyone twelve and under playing GSBot, and you will not find anybody twelve or under who knows what a DV is. Because you will not find any twelve or under hardcore pokémon fans. Pokémon Online was going to be a great game, it was going to be the second online way to battle that included DVs (GSBot being the first) however, it was going to 10x better then GSBot.

Game developers are just that, they develop games that they believe people will play, does not mean they are immature if they enjoy the basis of which they are making their product from. Pokemon is a really popular thing now-and-days.
