Unixmad, heres another idea. Instead of it tallying up the hours we arent online as our paid hours, let our online hours be our paid time...I'd gladly pay for a year for those prices if we had to spend a year online for the payment to be on, but instead out of that year our online time equals up to roughly lower than a month. (unless they are like me, and spend 6-8 hours online a day :D )

Edit: Btw, this game costs 40 dollars, and has hardly any content on 2001 even though its been a whole year. RuneScape and Dransik cost 60 a year, and have tons of stuff and a rpg system, not run around and get 5 hearts and then stay rest of the time getting money for hats and bomies. 20 dollars more and we get what we get on graal x 100(0?).

cross_hair 01-25-2002 03:07 PM

thats um 38 euro or whatever :)

That would never work.
That's 8,760 hours of playing time.
Say you're online 8 hours a day, then even being on that much it would still take you 1,095 days for your account to run out.

When you pay for graal you support a small team of guys that try to make your time more fun, when you pay for cdrom it mostly go on the pocket of very big company like Microsoft that really don't mind about you, they just think that if they do good graphics and a good marketing you will be stupid enough to buy the product and put on bench after a few hours.

Have you been practicing your english unixmad? hehehe ;)

I understand what you mean...more of, what you are saying. I don't believe a raise of ten dollars across the boards was an answer though :(

But that allows them to make the prices higher and us upgrade less... im tired of the p2p games doing "Your time is running even though you arent on"...

A lot of me buddies quit because of the
ghost mode changes. And now with the
upgraded accounts prices, I dont think i'll
be upgrading again ...

Very well said.
And I find it pretty mean how they critisize you about your english, heck most of us dont know french, so the people that insult your english without knowing french are pretty much hypocrites :)

I am just joking with you. :)

But if you really want to know when you make mistakes. You first sentence would correctly be written as:

I am 36 years old now, and it is very hard for an old guy like me to learn english now. :)

:)

Your english has gotten better though, I think. It's a lot easier to read your very few posts that you make now. :)

Whoa, my dad is 36 too !!! So can I own
Graal ?

unixmad 01-25-2002 03:31 PM

We will propose on a near future a pay by phone system, but you will discover that it will cost you lot more than a yearly fee, imagine you or your parents receive a bill of 100$ because you have been online a lot... Mostly you or your parents will decide that you must stop playing Graal, what we really don't want to.

The price for 1 year is very attractive because we want to have a long relationship with players, it really support us to continue developing Graal when we see group of players still supporting us after months of play.

We known that graal2001 start to be a bit old, but graal2002 is coming soon and it will not be a copy of graal2001 with new graphics but a new game with a lot of features (advanced pet system, kingdoms, role playing, monsters ...), and you will not have to pay anything more to play it.

Unix.

If we arent having to pay more to play 2002 why the sudden price going up?

Birdbird_0 01-25-2002 03:34 PM

I don't see a problem with the new price changes, Though an ingame voice chat system and more advanced chat interface could be a lot better :p

If you changed it to like 3 or 4 U.S.
dollars monthly, then I could get by
with sneaking a monthly $3-4 charge
off my dads credit card without him
noticing....

Hehehe. "The price for 1 year is very attractive" sounds extremely funny unixmad. Sorry, I must be hanging out on the forums for too long :D.

Well, since you are reading this thread, and posting replies I was wondering if you could remove that snow flak script from the Graal 2001 website, as it is not the holiday season anymore, and it takes a lot of time to load the main website (graal2001.com) on my connection. :( (And I replied to that forum pm)

Haven't you notice that all company raise there prices in January ? Each year prices go up and if you don't raise your prices you loose money.

We have announced that we will raise the prices in November, then players had 2 months to upgrade with old prices.

See the plan I saw Graal doing was being
like the PSX and costing like $150 when it
came out, but after 2-3 years it hella cheaper ...

Actually no I havent...seems after Christmas most games go down in price (store bought ones, that is). And almost every online game keeps a set fee through its entire lifetime. Seems in 51 days my account expires...it took some convincing to get my mom to let me use her credit card and pay her the money for the 3 month thing, now that its gone up in price and she doesnt like me wasting money on online games I doubt I'll be able to reupgrade at these prices...oh well, anyone know any games in beta?

Unix is right about one thing: The price for Graal is fairly cheap, compared to a CD-ROM game. Given, it's about $54 dollars for Final Fantasy X, for example and you get only so much time before you reach the end. $40 for a game that can constantly be changed, and where you can take place in making your own world is pretty damn good.

Meh, good point. I've played Graal more than any other game probably.

Time to dig out cs again.

Slaktmaster 01-25-2002 06:22 PM

The reason I am probably not reupgrading is because of that they disabled PayBox and I refuse to you PayPal. :(

I can afford the money.

Vyse_the_Blue_Rogue 01-25-2002 07:37 PM

Yes, fix Paybox!

konidias 01-25-2002 11:30 PM

What some of you people don't realize is, sure you can go buy a game in the store for 30 dollars or less, it might have online mode, but I highly doubt it's a mmorpg.. They are more like "multiplayer-networked" then "online".

With Graal, you're basically paying for the service.. you get a full year of an online rpg, that changes, and grows. They listen to your input, you can help make the game, you can come online one day and there will be new things. You can't find that in an offline rpg game, or a networked game. Maybe patches and things, but basically the players run their own servers with those games. So it's costing the players to pay for the good connections so they can run their own servers, and then they aren't even as fast as they could be.

I have no problem with paying for Graal, I just wish there were things on Graal that would make me want to upgrade again.. because right now, 2k1 is crumbling apart, and the other p2p servers are all either UC or need to be removed since they are rebuilding everything over again when they just got online. *cough* Andor *cough*

So what exactly would I be upgrading my account for? I don't even play on and p2p servers barely now.. because there is nothing good at the moment. That is why I said it would have been better for them to change the prices AFTER they released 2k2 and new pw's. Then people would be like "my account is running out, but 2k2 is so fun, I guess I will upgrade" and not like "my account is running out, and 2k1 is boring and so are the other P2P servers, oh well I guess I won't upgrade".

Oh, and I applaud unixmad for his English improvements. :)

ZanderX 01-25-2002 11:53 PM

wow.

Go unixmad. :) For once, you have spoken the points that I have tried to say, and you said them as good, if not better than I! :)

Slaktmaster 01-25-2002 11:54 PM

Yes, I see Unixmad's point, and I want to reupgrade but I am not allowed because my mom refuses to register at PayPal. I want Paybocks back! (!!!) [!!!] {!!!}
