Naw, but it might be to where only Chef ________ (_______) can bake inside of that particular Kingdom's kitchen (I'm sure there will be 'open' kitchens for non-Kingdom participators)

Fai 05-03-2001 05:02 AM

I'm not whining. I'm just sick of seeing good ideas fall to pieces on the server.

?
The idea of chefs baking for their kingdoms is a good one
each kingdom could eat different foods
but of course having freelance chefs would be good too

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:02 AM

They could cook faster in a kingdoms kitchen.

Why?

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:04 AM

Because castles have larger wooden stoves...

They should make a job center and you have to go to it for a test.

They tell you to bake 3 different items. (different each time) and if you get it correct you get a little thing saying youve done it and can then become a chef with the tag (chef)
anyone can do this whenever they want.

but only designated chefs of that kingdom could cook on them

Maybe because they have more advanced equipment? Just an idea... Kinda like a very fancy restraunt has very very good cooking equipment (better than you would see inside of a small roadside bakery for example) there, so it would be easier to make food and faster, and it would be better food.

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:06 AM

Castles are HUGE! They could have like a GIANT stone stove. In a hut, its gonna be small...

Fai 05-03-2001 05:06 AM

Oh gee wow. A kingdom has a chef, why? Just so that chef can have fun? Baking would be for fun anyway, so what would be the point of it in a kingdom?

Bigger stoves mean food is cooked faster? No. That means more food is cooked at the same time.

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:07 AM

to have an RP effect. Kingdoms could have meetings over dinner while the chefs prepare it ;)

!!!
to feed the bomys of the people in the kingdom
and to restore health
and for meetings just for atmosphere

freddyfox 05-03-2001 05:09 AM

ANYONE will be able to bake. Some ingrediants will cost money, some won't.
And yes, no microwaves. Only wooden stoves. Perhaps I should make a spit?

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:09 AM

BIGGER stove = BIGGER flame..Bigger flame = Hotter = Faster cooking oo

bigger flames don't mean hotter...

Fai 05-03-2001 05:10 AM

Well cooking is a good idea but it probably won't come out as good as it sounds.

freddyfox 05-03-2001 05:10 AM

Bigger flames = Crispier

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:10 AM

Cook something on a tiny grill, and then cook something alone on a large grill. Tell me what finishes first. I did an experiment like this in school ;) YOULL be surprised...

omni-m00gle 05-03-2001 05:11 AM

Bake sales!

Fai 05-03-2001 05:11 AM

If you cook something faster the outside will get burned in the inside won't so it will be bad. That's why you don't cook all foods at 5000°.

Zulithe 05-03-2001 05:12 AM

Also how about the 'team' idea that we see in Crafting? Just like two people hitting the stone at the same time (I don't know if this actually makes it work faster but I see people doing it anyway)

Like two chefs can both knead on the same dough to make it faster.

Also we could make it to where the stoves need air pumped inside to make them hotter to cook the food. So like there could be this pump on the side (I don't know what they are called... they are triangular and you press on them and air comes out of one end?) A very large one that you have to step on, and then off, and then back on again to fuel the stove. And you will see a percentage (like in mining) until it reaches 100% at which time it would be done baking

and perhaps its a fire hazard to cook at over 650°F

Valder 05-03-2001 05:14 AM

hehe, cook it with an attomic bomb, they are as hot as the sun on impact

Tapping D a hundred times is not fun. Cooking should be simple, like you take a bowl, mix some ingrediets in it, and bake it. Then pick it up and carry it around and do whatever.

freddyfox 05-03-2001 05:14 AM

If anyone is confused about what you will do:

Let me use the muffin for an example. You go into the bakery. You buy 1 Cup of Flour, 1 Cup of Sugar, and 1 Muffin Tin. You then go over to the stove and say "Bake Muffin" or whatever. You then will create the muffin. After a short bit of time, you will get back 4 Muffins.

Sound good?

That lacks creativity. You should be able to select like 3 ingredients from a shelf of like 10 things, then mix them together, then cook it, then do whatever. And it would look different depending on what you mixed.

That would take A LOT of graphics and ganis..

Not bad but it sounds too simple and there isn't a whole lot of variety to it.

Fai 05-03-2001 05:19 AM

No. You could do things like a gani with 3 things in it. And if you picked bread, lettuce, and ham, it would show a slice of bread with ham on it and lettuce on that then bread on top of that. I don't know about mixed things though. Maybe setcoloreffect would help make them look different.

I was thinking that too.
Mayve I'll do that after I lose the headache and finish the cactus race

freddyfox 05-03-2001 05:22 AM

Folks, folks, that was a basic idea!
Yes, mixing things would be a good idea. I was just providing an example. And yes, there will be different things to mix to make things different. Such as mixing in blueberries into the muffin batter to create blueberry muffins.

ReBBisH 05-03-2001 05:22 AM

OMG a Cactus race?? and hows your bomy coming?
