BTW Iam making Wolf Pets... lol you don't want to hear about this..

Anyhow cool And make that game as fast as you can lol =) I wanna be oe of the first to play it...

OK At least you don't quit Graal... phew...

SabreKnot 01-05-2002 10:28 AM

Me thinks stefan should put a few people in charge of Graal 2001, rename it to New World, and leave it alone with all the stuff it has on it, then the people that want the graphics of 2k2 and the kingdoms can go, and the old kingdoms on 2k1 can be refilled with newer ones (as well as newer levels).

I mean, it is already one of the best pws there, dont abandon it, let someone else take it over!

Sjc2k1 01-05-2002 10:38 AM

i think if most of the staff are going to 2k2. New staff should be hired for 2k1 then the old staff that are going to 2k2 have more time to work on 2k2 rather than letting one server die while they move to a new server.

I want to see what happens to Graal, it should be interesting.

Come on man, don't let the server to go ruins because of this!
There are a whole bunch of people who really don't like 2k2 (me not being one of them) and that are looking forward to your projects and towards the supposedly bright future of 2k1. We need you :(

Edit: I don't want role-playing to die on Graal 2001 even after 2k2 is put up, I think both have their unique aspects and such to them

Kumada 01-05-2002 12:28 PM

Damnit he actually made 2k1 fun :(

FFusion 01-05-2002 12:31 PM

i was really looking forward to koni's projects :(

Torankusu 01-05-2002 12:59 PM

you know,
they could just somewhat merge the things, and make 2002 somewhat more futuristic/advanced mideval times-like, but I suggested this a long time ago, and it never came about.

I've also suggested advanced systems for roleplaying-battles, and ways to keep PKers out. I doubt a one of them has been considered.

konidias 01-05-2002 01:11 PM

I have already started planning on my own game (actually I have been planning for quite a while)

Some of the things I would like to include are some seriously detailed statistics and things for the players. (this is an online game) The players could be customised visually from head to toe, and there would be many many stats, such as physical attributes, mental attributes, talents, skills, knowledge, etc.

The game wouldn't be at all like anything I have ever seen at least.. I like to pay attention to detail when it's something that I really want to make.. things like breathing animations, and changes in the breathing animation when they have been running for some time (breathing gets faster) and when they are in cold climates you can see their breath as they breathe.

I would probably have to use 3d models for it but they would look 2d, sort of like that game that starts with an R, but the game would be a 3/4th front view, not isometric.. plus it would most likely have a 2d look but 3d attributes to it.

Of course I still need to learn so much about 3d stuff and programming before I could get this underway..

First time I've seen that icon used in a while.

Kasuagi 01-05-2002 01:31 PM

i don't blame koni one bit. stefan just doesn't see what some people do to try and help graal, i don't know what he is blinded with! maybe it's his own ambitions, people want to help him and his game, but he just blows them off

i'm glad to see that koni has took a whole new perspective on graal. i mean, g2k1 would have been great with koni and a couple of other people in full control. now that stefan has g2k2, he thinks everything is just going to fall into place and it isn't. it's a shame this is how g2k1 will end. konidias was the only one doing anything nice for the server =(

on a lighter note, all those people bought bomies for 5k to 7k for nothing! haha, that must suck

Oh, SabreKnot, you made the most ingenious animated sigs ever but you lose points for arrogance. Their use of the word ego was correct, there is more than just the Freudian definition. For shame on you for insulting them like that. Be more humble. :)

Kagami realised his disgust for humanity. The humans destroyed themselves, slowly, in their near infinite sins.

Bah, that Freud guy was a psychopath.

FatherDante 01-05-2002 02:21 PM

I think that's a bit of a short judgement, don't you think? It would only be fair to say he was a psychopathologist. The rest is a judgement of history: but who knows enough to do that?

It was a time of uncertainty in Japan. The encroachment of the western world tore at the culture of the land: Once one of glorious history. But the empire itself demanded the death of the old samurai... time had passed judgement on the way of the ninja, the glory of the noble lifestyle had passed underneath the tea and textile trade of the foreign man.

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 02:24 PM

bleh whatever he was... he is still nuts...

Soto2001 01-05-2002 02:30 PM

me too, his game will rock

FatherDante 01-05-2002 02:35 PM

Sounds like a crazy pipe dream to me. But more power to it if it comes into creation. I'd want to play such a thing.

Before he was 12 years old Moriya's skill surpassed his master's. But he felt among family with Yuki, Kaede, and Gaisei, and chose to stay in spite of his not needing training.

Kagami knew of Gaisei's knowledge. He came to him, and Gaisei, like Shigen, recoiled at Shinnosuke's plan to destroy humanity.

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 02:37 PM

er... in my case... eh a little optomism never hurt anyone... well ok so when peoples hopes crash and die it does hurt but....

Falcor 01-05-2002 02:39 PM

I was never really fond on Konidias but altleast he did his job :-\ which is more than i can say for some people.

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 02:41 PM

Most do their jobs as best they can... please stop that way of thinking now...

FatherDante 01-05-2002 02:45 PM

I don't know what Konidias did, but I'll bet he did work hard. He seemed to really want to finish bomy battling. You betcha. I liked his tileset, even if TrueHeaT didn't.

Kaede and Yuki were shocked to see Moriya standing over the bloody body of their master. In a rage, Kaede leapt at Moriya and struck him with his sword.

But Moriya only took the blow, and, with no expression on his face, left the house without saying a word.

Five years he spent trying to atone for his past.

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 02:48 PM

the truth is... your holding these people up to a totem thats bigger than most proffesionals acheive... and being volunteer staff... well they don't even achieve that high... but their still doing a great job imo... better than me as I'm not even doing anything these days...

TrueHeaT 01-05-2002 02:51 PM

I especially didn't like his tileset because it made it impossible for me to make levels with my cool house with grass roof look, seeing as the houses were all ugly brick instead of cool curved tan color :(

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 02:53 PM

*growls*... note to self: the job of the peacemaker is very stessfull... which it seems I'm trying to become... TH that was just rude... you want more tiles you can make your own... thats all I have to say on that subject

TrueHeaT 01-05-2002 02:54 PM

I don't want more tiles, I just want the old tiles that work :P

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 02:58 PM

Thats your problem... not something he did wrong

TrueHeaT 01-05-2002 03:13 PM

in my opinion it is something he did wrong. the way he did the house is just wrong =\

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 03:15 PM

maybe you should voice it better by suggesting an improvement rather than saying "he did it wrong"

A way he could have improved his tileset is by not touching anything!
And I think my calling it flat is telling him a way to improve it - make it less flat, obviously.

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 03:21 PM

oh come now... your suggesting his tileset is totally unrecoverable?

TrueHeaT 01-05-2002 03:28 PM

Uhhh..??

Juron Pilo 01-05-2002 03:29 PM

how much work was put in to it do you think?

TrueHeaT 01-05-2002 03:30 PM

not a lot

Sorry to see Koni go :(
He saw the lat applications and understood why there were few level makers, because most of the apps suck ...

Its hard to find good people to volenter their times.
