If you don't have a credit card, use a damn bank card. Graal has to change. People just want everything for free. It cost ALOT of money to keep graal up and the servers running. Stop whining and pay the few bucks a month. P2P players are allowed to go on any server anytime. Start upgrading your accounts or stop whining and leave. Everyone says graal sux, blah blah. But they still come back and play it. Leave! Graal makes no money off whiny people who wont pay for a p2p account. There just people that cause more trouble. It's not like its a million bucks for an account. I just went on free servers with my non-p2p and i waited at most 2 min before i was able to play. People are whining because of that!? Grow up, 2 min aint a hole lot of time to wait. Go grab a drink or a snack and come back.

I talk to people that are deciding to quit Graal because of this; I might leave earlier. They can't play their favourite free server like they could so they are thinkinh about quitting Graal. And how fun will Graal be if all of my old friends that I talk to every day simply disappear?

Graal is so fun and the game itself is becoming better all the time but things like this is making me sad. :( But of course I understand Stefan for doing it.

No offense to your friends, but that's really childish. I mean, there is a 500 person limit on all servers, meaning there cannot be more than 500 people on Graal at any given time now. But it's not like you have to wait for a thousand years to get on. Like Shorty2Dope said, if you get stuck in a queue, just get up and go get a snack or talk to someone on the phone for a few minutes until you get in...

You guys cant just think about your selves!
If there gets too much bandwith on graal's servers,
then graal will be shut down for a month or soo.
(If he is using that kind of a server.)
But also you don't want to be on graal and have it be laggy.
Just eat a snack,watch a show,watch a porno..err.. I mean go outside and DO SOMETHING!

The only thing wrong with graal is the administrators and how they judge; nobody's judgement is perfect, though; only when you agree with their decision, or it didn't effect you majorly/you wanted it to happen.

Stefan creating a maxplayerlimit reduced bandwith used, costing less for graal. It also gives people another reason to upgrade; not have to play as a ghost(?).

There is not a bandwidth problem.

It's called financial growth and decay.

If 50 players buy 50 many year-long Graal accounts, Graal gets x amount of dollars.

However, if 100 players do NOT buy 100 many year-long Graal accounts, Graal does NOT get x amount of dollars.

As it stands, Graal seems to be on the decaying side of financial growth and decay. x players are not buying x accounts and Graal does NOT get x amount of dollars.

In other words, if the trend continues, Graal goes to the trash can.

In other words, this is necessary so people will be enticed to pay. Besides, it's only 27 friggin dollars.

And with the maximum player limit, Stefan and other higher up Staff will also have potentially less player annoyance to deal with, meaning more time to update and work on things, and possibly more responsiveness when online.

I haven't been a victim of this ghost thing yet...

That makes me mad that they think they can play this game without playing it! It's just like buying a computer game! And people use this game more then any crapy computer game! Jeese, it's 27$ And if you buy a computer game you allways buy the (sp?)sequal, so it's just like re-newing your acount.

If graal2002 isnt any good we can still play faheria, i saw tb3 today and he said he was going to add some more stuff soon.

Its only something like 18 euros (total guess but it has to be close) for a year. Thats cheaper than a new game.

Play PS2 game - A month (max) then you get bored stick it in a draw/box/something and forget about it.
Play Graal - Nearly every day for the while year.

So it works out cheaper buying a year of graal. Plus graal always gets new stuff added and a ps2/xbox/gamecube game doesnt.

So all you cheap %*!$*^)(" (dont ask) should upgrade your accounts now! Go on! Now!

Even though on Graal 2001 the whole server revolves around pressing the D button which totaly sux and needs some quests or something to kill :p .. *ducks as stefan throws knives* ....you should still upgrade cause Graal 2002 looks cool and Graal 2001 has to get better sometime.

2) Graal not ceasing to be is good3) C'mon guys, we owe it to 'em. Stefan has had to pass up some juicy opportunities to make games for other companies, and Unixmad's funded this game out of pocket for the last, what, three years? Something like that. What's not to understand?
Strangely, it seems a lot. I tell people Unixmad paid for Graal's upkeep and maintenance out of his savings account, and they say "Well, why can't he KEEP covering the costs?"
(Are these people naïve, or just stupid?!?)
A few say he didn't earn the money anyway - just loaned out half the bandwidth to XXX sites. One, no idea where that info came from, two, that's still earning money chachi.

But back to Ghost Mode itself:
1) All Local Commands. If it encounters the script if(playertouchsme) hide;, it runs if(playertouchsme) hidelocal. It ignores putnpc and destroy, and setplayerprop, and setcharprop, etc, but hide and show come as hidelocal and showlocal-so they can at least explore a little bit!
2) Script Ghosts. I wanna make a ghost spar arena! I wanna make a sparringzone such that the people who don't enter via the NPC Warp are "PMable ghosts" until they leave the level! It'd be kinda like showstats on the minimap, how you can't force it to be visible if the player disables it: you can't make someone who is a ghost not a ghost via scripting, but you can make someone who is not a ghost a ghost temporarily, while they're in the room, via scripting. ^__^

Just imagine the possibilities...staff that can go Ghost at will, viewable events that don't lag the participants...I want to script ghosts! :(

Well staff accounts for all servers should be half-upgraded then (I.E. Acces to own server as upgraded account) otherwise if too many people are on there wouldn't be enough staff available. Although preferably without acces to the forums excepting perhaps the admin accounts.

OMG it's only 27 dollar a year 27/12= thats only 2.25 per month!!!Just don't eat lunch at school for like a day or mow a neighbors lawn and you'll have enought money to pay your parents or just go and ask your parents to upgrade your account for chrismas or something...

People with P2P accounts can access any server anytime. Atleast thats what i noticed. I was able to go into any server with no problem with P2P. When I used my trial account I had to wait from 30sec - 2min at most. Thats not bad at all.

For ghost mode they should make it so ghost can see each other or talk to other ghost. This way they have something to do while they wait for 2 min. :D
