On a side note; I would like some kind of use of Mac's notification system for PM's on the client or RC messages.

Somehow I think that would be a rather easy bug to fix so disabling v5 would kind of force Eras hand into fixing it

I'm not sure because the problem is only for azerty keyboards and not many people use it x_x, I think it's working fine for qwerty's

WonderBread 06-14-2013 08:18 PM

It's ridiculous how bugged and incompatible v6 is. A new Graal client has never been released with this many issues. I find it absurd that an "up"grade to this client is being forced.

Admins 06-14-2013 10:05 PM

Bugged? It's the most stable and fast version ever.

My client is never buggy... I'm not exactly sure what causes the buggy'ness' of the client. Currently I'm on a Mac and I seriously haven't had one issue. On the other hand my Windows 7 computer is just horrible. 10 FPS, constant lag (Internet service provider isn't the cause either).

Yes, this is true. BUT in certain circumstances, it's horrible and unbearable to play Graal. I'm not sure what causes it either, cbk1994 and I have tried testing what causes the issue but we couldn't find the source.

What Tim said, but aesthetically, it's one of the ugliest.

GodlyAmbitions 06-16-2013 04:10 AM

its the fast version? i was more stable with dialup back then than 100 mbps cable connection right now

Lol, the good ole' days.

Gos_pira 06-17-2013 12:08 PM

I've played v6 on both windows and on linux, and the windows version plays much more horrible than on linux. I have no idea why. I ran it on the same computer so the hardware can't be the issue.

Just because you say it is doesn't mean there's not outliers and exceptions where it's not. In order to properly address the issue you need to make useful logs or debugging information that players can provide without requiring interaction with server staff.

It would also help if you could document debugging tools for developers so we can actually understand the debugging information and logs better and be able address issues brought up by them.

I have tested V6 since the beta was out. I have used Windows 7, Windows 8, Ubuntu Linux, and Mac OS X 10.8.3. I think my mac currently runs graal the smoothest. But I never had any problems that were caused by the v6, with the exception of gani movies breaking, but thats fixable by removing some spaces.

Actually, without UDP support it's the slowest client as of yet in that regard. TCP processes data much less efficiently, and every other client (as far as I can remember) has had UDP support.

It's not UDP support, it's P2P support which connects other clients to each other using UDP. Graal doesn't have proper client to server UDP communication currently.

This feature always caused me lag so I never used it. People did nothing but skip around on my screen like it was a joke. Guess not everyone got to benefit from it.

If your UDP is misconfigured, then yeah, it could cause problems.

Woot somebody fixed the instrument bug =)

GodlyAmbitions 06-22-2013 05:58 AM

woot the f10 pause abuse ENDS NOW

WonderBread 06-22-2013 06:51 PM

Sparring may be ruined, but at least I won't know since I can't even log into the client now. v6 apparently doesn't actually work on my incredibly common and up to date Windows 7.

Make a new Graal folder and disable any AV that may interfere.

Crono1508 06-23-2013 11:49 AM

Thanks for the good times everybody.

Cubical 06-27-2013 03:39 AM

Atleast people can start using all the available body colors now. I hardly ever see anyone using anything but the default 12 or so colors.

alskdjfhg 06-28-2013 03:26 AM

Well, as long as Graal doesn't have proper client to server UDP communication, PVP is more dead than ever. Graal is just one step closer to being a chat room.

GodlyAmbitions 06-28-2013 08:23 AM

i've heard from the community that you could STILL pause by holding the x button on the top of the client, i think that should be disabled.

and also some people oddly have ridiculous fps lag with v6 despite a fairly decent computer, so we've lost a few players... anyone know what could be the problem to this? if you could run every game with max settings i think it shouldn't have a problem running an old game...

dmhabe 07-01-2013 05:02 PM

They said the same thing when GServer was changed from 1.28 rev2 to 1.3.

Except, this time, sparring is actually pretty much dead. The UPD bullshit combined with Stefan moving server locations has pretty much made sparring a guessing game. When everybody has 150ms ping (opposed to some people having 30-70 on the old servers) and UPD is all jazzed up, sparring is just too frustrating for a lot of us to even bother with.

Admins 07-06-2013 08:55 PM

Can you check if Kingdoms is less laggy for you?

Tim_Rocks 07-07-2013 12:52 AM

I remember when I used to get 20 ms; ah the good ole' days.

rip sparring

Brady_Graal 11-08-2013 12:26 AM

iPhone sparring is laggier than v5, but it's bearable compared to v6
it's the only place left to spar

my ping on UN is up to 125 now for some reason

Graal v7 should fix the issues you're experiencing.
