id only do it if i was dating that person in real life.

FxChiP 04-08-2001 08:38 PM

My take

I just think Internet Relationships never seem to work out.
I am currently in an internet relationship. I've been goin with the girl for 8-9 months. It's workin out pretty strong so far.

greezi 04-08-2001 08:40 PM

Graal? Or real life?

fugitive316 04-08-2001 09:41 PM

I would vote yes and no. It all depends on the situation. If I have never seen this person IRL then it would be no. But If I met this person and continued to talk to them online, I would say yes. (Im in a relationship with a girl that lives 300 miles away from me, that I have met IRL and talk to online) But either way it would be classified as an "internet relationship".

LordMax 04-08-2001 09:44 PM

but u never really know the person

Shayde 04-08-2001 09:48 PM

I'd have to say no, but I don't see anything really wrong with them. I prefer real life, kissing, ect.

Cloud_X 04-08-2001 10:01 PM

Yes i agree I mean typing *kiss* cant be as good as actually kissing someone

FxChiP 04-08-2001 10:06 PM

errrrrr

You dont know anyone until you have talked with them for a while. The world is full of strangers that are waiting to be met. (or something *cough*)

freddyfox 04-08-2001 10:35 PM

Yeah! That cute, blonde girl your talking to COULD be a 48 year old man typing that from his jail cell!

Lycia 04-08-2001 11:37 PM

Actually, online dating can be good for the male aspect of relationships.

Lets face it. 85% of males have crappy communication skills and using the Internet forces them to use them, thus, making the relationship a lot better.

Nope. I'm going by statistics that I've found on the Internet.

Barbi 04-09-2001 02:45 AM

People can lie to you in person just as easily as online... they just lie about different things. The divorce rate isn't as high as it is because people are always honest in "real life."

I read somewhere that the reason like 80% or so of internet relationships don't work is because most people do not act the same in person as they do online.
So when they meet, everything's different.

The best reasons for online relationships (friendship or romantic) are if you live in an area where there are limited people you're compatible with, you're very shy in person, or if you want be sure people like you for who you are and not how you look or something.

umm u shouldnt use statictics from the internet. i did that for a project and they were completly wrong.

05-08-2001 07:25 AM

I'd have to say... yeah. But only if I knew this person for more than a month, and I really liked him. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER go out with anyone on graal who was just like "will u b my g/f!@?#?!@#?!@?". I hate those ***gots. If I'm cool with the person, we talk on the phone and such, it's okay, I guess.

Zulithe 05-08-2001 07:26 AM

Garnet likes to cyber!

Olorin 05-08-2001 07:34 AM

Mmmm does it constitute an online relationship where you met online, but you didnt decide to go out till you met in real life, oh well its not like it matters anymore since after 4 months we broke up cuz of the distance

Naw that would count as a real world relationship to me. Too bad things didn't work out for you though. I've heard some great stories about people who have met the love of their life over the net

Yep, you're right. Apparently, (for those who're interested) parts of our brains relating to communication aren't as developed as those of females. But on the other hand, we get better spacial awareness to compensate. Which, of course, makes us better drivers. So nyeh.

Wow this got off subject, but only by a little.
I'd date in graal if it was for roleplaying reasons.

all the 11 people who voted yes so far have a problem. i am taking this as a {married to SuperHotGuy5543} type of stuff.

bb2k1 05-09-2001 04:09 AM

I voted yes, I'd vote no too.
Like I said, I'll only date if it's roleplaying.

05-09-2001 04:13 AM

I voted no because I would not date someone on graal, but I would date someone online *I'd have to have a possibility of meeting the person in real life, though, or at LEAST call them on the phone*. One of my best friends is in a relationship with a guy she met online that's been strong for 8 months now. They plan to meet each other in august.

freddyfox 05-09-2001 04:18 AM

I voted No, because no one wants to date a ratman anyways.

Huggles 06-01-2001 05:48 AM
