Why would you have a gun specifically built to fire Molotovs? Why would have a potentially expensive weapon built to fire budget grenades?

i see, i misunderstood.
But if im correct, it's 1 grenade launcher which can launch all 4 types of grenades.
So then i don't think it really matters alot, and besides, it's only a game, it doesn't have to be real.

exactly, you switch modes to adjust to your surroundings.
its like a 4 in one gun :)
well, might seem overpowered but ofc we will make ammo expensive too :)
