I'll jump on the criticism bandwagon as well, at least once, hope you don't mind. I'd like some things answered, and these are non biased and not in any way am I trying to start a ruckus or bash you.


1) From what I've heard, possibly from bad sources, Rebirth are made with Maloria as inspiration and you even asked the previous manager for a "merge", and in that agreement you were the only ones benefiting from it since you basically wanted all of Maloria's graphics, yet use your names and content. True?

2) Let's assume for a second that you get everything completed and ready for play, since it's such a drastic server change you DO realize you'll have to reapply for Classic status with it, right? Is it worth risking so much time on losing your current Classic status when you're even doing fairly well playercount wise?


I thought I had more questions, but I can't think of any. Either way, I wish you good luck with it. :)

I hope things have changed since the last time I heard anything about the project. It was quite a task just to get some stolen graphics removed.

Last time I saw it, it didn't look too great to me. I think you should make updates to N-Pulse, instead of trying to change it entirely. Or maybe make it a different server and leave N-Pulse alone? Because I know, I only play N-Pulse for the events and sparring, so I doubt many of the current players would continue to play, even if it was still involved. N-Pulse has been a classic server for a while, changing it would be stupid imo.

I would agree with you if NP still had the player count it had awhile ago, but it doesnt.
They have worked really hard on the new NP, from what I hear, and it deserves a chance.
They need to focus on drawing in new players instead of focusing on keeping the few old players that remain.
NP was great way back when, when there were a lot of people on, and lots of people who liked to mass pk. That community is gone, not just from NP, but from Graal.
Everything has changed now, and NP needs to go with the flow...

Since these are valid points of concern I'll take the time to reply to this one. :)

To your first point, if you look at the details of the server that Chang outlined you'll see that Rebirth has systems and gameplay content that are far different from anything Maloria would have had. Since the staff at Maloria were having issues completing their project (I'm assuming due to a lack of manpower) my understanding is that they wanted to merge their -content- with us. This never took place, and I spoke with Chang the second I learned about this and said if they want to give us anything, it wouldn't be scripts, and our gameplay and ideas for the project would remain just as they were.

I personally don't mind re-applying for classic status. What happens to N-Pulse normally is that it goes through phases every few months of a reasonable playercount, and then a very low playercount. Lately, though, the phases of low playercount have been longer and more frequent, and so barring something drastic it's very unlikely we'll be able to attract the playercount we once had. It's inaccurate (at least by my standards) to say we're doing fairly well playercount wise.

I doubt it will be extremely hard to obtain Hosted status, let alone Classic.

Someone even told me Vesporia was quality enough to go Hosted, so it doesn't seem like their standards are too high.

That's what I initially thought as well. I think they will find it harder than they think to make an RPG while maintaining N-Pulse, or however they are wording it.

That's a convinient way to put it if you're trying to bash. The real motive is...N-Pulse is dieing, so we'll do something about it. Put it in the worst terms you can think of, it won't change the real reason we're doing it.

The spot for assistant is now filled. I probably won't be hiring any additional NATs, but anyone with very good dev experience who still feels they want to contribute may contact me for a dev job.

Exactly. Oh well, it's a good idea, if I was making a server and could almost guarantee it making the classic tab, I would.

I don't mean to bash NP and it's rebirth, but it seems fairly shady that now that NP is dying, a completely new renovation is replacing it. And not just changing the drapes, moving a few chairs around, and adding a patio - you're building a new house on the land.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Again though if re-arranging the deck chairs would bring back the playercount we had once, we'd be fine doing that. However, I think the situation we're in now with the playercount unfortunately goes deeper then just that.
