Red Dublin:
I'd vote for Red Dublin if somebody could dig up the old levels.
Red Dublin had one of the best bases of all time.

Terisu and Morano:
No. This genre of gang doesn't succeed without at least 6 original members.

New Gang:
No. This playercount isn't creative enough to give them this freedom.

Tachi:
With the current playerbase, Tachi would be the most fitting.
One factor that makes revived gangs "fail" is the fact that it had merit in the past, and it'll always be compared to its previous hype and reputation. Tachi's never had enough hype to be put to shame, and the base is decent(assuming you plan on using the mansion).
My only concern is the weapon the could be a possible "Gang gun" for Tachi.
If one were to chose Shurikens, I fear that it would either be overpowered or suck-- It's always been difficult to find the middle ground for Shurikens.
And for Tachi to have a Gun as their weapon would make me tilt my head.

Oh, and the "party base takeover" idea was done before, as I'm sure you already know. It would only last until the first Gang "makes it".

Also, one of the most admirable aspects of Old Era was gang promotion. It gave everybody something to shoot for as an individual. This playercount could care less about promoting their gang as a group-- They're too greedy. As long as they can get their hands on the latest gun, they're satisfied.

Meph supports the idea of a 3 gang limit.

Good point Meph, These gangs failed for a reason. Why bring them back? why would they be likely not that fail again.

The previous method of parties upgrading to gangs was pretty much where the party with the most money will become a gang. Of course that didn' work out. That and because they needed to a staff member to set everything up for them.

My idea was for them to have at least 7 supporters (not necessarily a party; but a petition) and maybe around $7,000 to start the gang up; not including the cost of the gang gun and gang house. Instead of having staff to manually add gang X to this building and customize the entire building to their theme, the group would choose from a list of premade buildings on the gang house map along with their gun.

There would be a total of 6 capturable bases; 4 if parties are going to be deleted. Each base is permanently owned by a gang once it's selected and bought out.

I would rather it be done this way rather than having the same gangs running around since the beginning of Era. Try something new for once, regardless if it sounds ridiculous in the start. I'm tired of comming on after EVERY reset and saying the same thing "Same ****, different reset -sigh-".

same businesses
same gangs
same guns
same gmap
same jobs
...

Bring a new gang in with a new weapon >_<

Yes ! I voted for this.

I kind of liked the idea where anyone could start a gang. They would basically need at least an X amount of supporters and money to have it created at the gang house. They would be able to choose from a list of premade gang guns and be able to choose which premade gang buildings they'd wish to reside.
This would be absolutely awesome, if it was done right.

There's a lot of problems with a 3 gang system, I'm not saying that to seem less useful. With only 3 gangs, if all are active at one time, 2 of them will be raiding each other and where will the third go? Either there will be a circle of people raiding each other and nobody protecting their own bases or 2 gangs raiding 1. Also, I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like Gang Wars won't work out completely right with an odd number of gangs. And as for parties as gangs, gangs are supposed to be more exclusive and original than that. They're supposed to have a theme and be regulated to keep them on track and doing what they should be. A bunch of new players with a trash pick and flower basket shouldn't be able to lead a gang just because they have money and support.

I said archaic, not anarchistic

and if you weren't confusing my words and just made that statement for whatever reason, I AM THE GOVERNMENT

Whose to say that these "new players" are going to find 7 players and be able to make the money before anyone else? Like I said, only 4 will get their own gang building. For how long, that depends on how organized their gang really is. It will be based on their rating; as in, kills/death ratio (points added for kills; points deducted for deaths), tag activity, base captures, ect. The rest that apply will just become street gangs until the weaker fail.

If the mail system is still in effect, the leader of the street gang with the next best rating will be mailed and notified that their gang assets are available for selecting.

Sinkler 09-30-2008 08:32 PM

Well, Era clearly wants Tachi, some want Terisu. The katana will never be allowed for the public anyway, and besides, would Staff give up using their Katana?

How fast you can make money has absolutely nothing to do with your ability to properly run a gang.

A similar system was attempted in JennEra.
Foray Crew. I remember taking over bases and racking up points by just idling in an opponent's base; even though none were online.

CharlieM 09-30-2008 10:20 PM

I say MF and move it back to the southern part, and my second choice would be new applications, but it might take awhile as most of era does lack creativity now

cbk1994 09-30-2008 10:48 PM

Morano Family, if you must, but I would keep it at three gangs. They are already not very active.

EDIT: Whatever you do, please no Terisu.

Nataxo 09-30-2008 10:53 PM

New Gang :)

Sinkler 09-30-2008 11:17 PM

The problem I have with Morano is that it's known to become inactive, or there is no honor in it. It's a fun RPing gang, but it's been transformed into horrible leadership in the past.

Define "new player" then.

That can easily be tweaked. There's a global event on UN where guilds can capture a castle. After about an hour or so has passed it closes down and is left to the last guild that captured it. It reopens at certain times and is done automatically. Era's capturable bases could use a similar system.
