I'm going to HAVE to agree, AS2 uses eventListeners for the win. We should as well, in GS2, as I've seen a number of similarities already in the 2 scripting languages. Not to mention how bloody handy it is to be able to listen to your own events when they're triggered.

We do not need to be bringing GS2 closer to ECMAScript standards. We should be keeping GS2 consistent and not adding completely new ways to do the same things which would just end up confusing people.

catchevent() does fine.
