It's true that you already have management, but it would be blatantly dishonest for you to say that you have no interest in popularity. Your entire post was about how you will do a better job than your predecessors, and it's not the first you've made on that theme. That's not necessarily a bad thing - everybody hypes their product. But I would advise that 1) you concentrate on what you're doing well instead of what others did badly and 2) you keep your projections in better proportion to what has actually been completed and showcased.
