I think at first we'll add the grenade with the original idea and them from there possibly add the different cores for it etc.

Also, I am most likely going to just use light effects for now then when Gv4 is public we'll probably add particle effects.

Perhaps until v4 is mainstream the use of a light effect would be a good idea. I tried making one, hosted here. It might not have the right perspective, I tried to make it seem like it was parallel to the ground on Zone... If it's not right, someone else could try. Either way you can use a ring light effect along with a Zoomeffect to make it spread out, and get dimmer as it gets wider.

v4 will take some time till it will be available for everyone, we plan to release it soon for VIP or VIP/Gold.
The light effects seems to be good, also need something for people who cannot see light effects with v2 I guess. Also some nice sound effects?

Would this be a sorta detonator bomb? That would be so cool =D

Hmmm... The solution for people without light effects is a tricky one. The only solution I could think of for now is to modify the light effect... I use the Dissolve layer type in Photoshop, and altered the Hue/Saturation of the light effect I posted earlier. The Dissolve effect image is attached below. It might work as a replacement for the light effect... The only problems I can see are:

- It's not as cool as the light effect
- If you use a Zoom Effect, the image will start to look funny as the pixels get bigger.
- It's ugly

But they will still be able to see the wave coming...

I don't know much about the Graal Engine... But another possible solution is to employ the use of Showpoly... How good is Graal at drawing eplitical polygons? You could draw the lines very close on the outside of the wave (where the white is on the light effect), and as the wave gets fainter on the inside (The grey/black parts on the light effect), the lines get further and further apart.

I think the "No-Light Effect" solution needs to be brainstormed on a little bit more. :\

EDIT: I forgot to attach the image. I hosted it on Imageshack instead. Here.

how about as a distraction? it can scramble the radar perhaps? cause ungodly annoying disorientation, i like that. or just for fun.

Any news on this? I can't access Zone myself, so I'm just curious.

Yes, reviving an old thread... If you're still interested in this idea Stefan: I have access to a pretty sweet recording studio, and an assortment of microphones that I can sign out. I can try to create some sound effects for this if you think you'd want to implement this weapon into Zone. I'd just rather not take the time to mess around and create sound effects if they're just going to end up in the trash bin. :P

Im not sure how I'm going to create those effects yet though... Hrm, maybe I can use a guitar with a phase effect on it or something weird like that.

I know... That wouldn't bother me so much. I was refering to the sound effects ending up in the trash. Which is why I'm not going to bother trying to make them yet.
